What was your first job as a journalist?
I began writing for a start-up minority owned media company.
Have you ever used a typewriter?
Yes when I was a little girl I would use my grandmother's to write.
What's your favorite social network?
Facebook
Why did you become a journalist?
To tell stories less told among people of color and African Americans.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
My story on historically Black beaches.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Never stop writing and don't be afraid to try and put your material out there.
