Salivary Inflammatory Mediator Profiles in Periodontal and Peri‐Implant Health and Disease: A Cross‐Sectional Study
1 Introduction Inflammatory response and immune reactions to bacteria and biofilm play a central role in the development of periodontitis (PD), disrupting the delicate equilibrium between the host and commensal microbiota in healthy conditions. This dysbiotic shift triggers an imbalance in the host's response, ultimately driving the process of inflammation [1, 2].
Gene expression profiling of periodontitis-affected gingival tissue by spatial transcriptomics
This study was performed in accordance with the Declaration of Helsinki and current Swedish legislation. The gingival tissue collection was approved by the Regional Ethics Board in Stockholm with reference number 2008/1935 – 31/3 and written informed consent was obtained from all individuals included in the study. Gingival tissue biopsies were collected from subjects with periodontitis and healthy controls without periodontitis as previously described17,32.
Corrigendum: An automated approach to prepare tissue-derived spatially barcoded RNA-sequencing libraries
This Article contains errors in Figure 6c. The Pearson correlation values for the automated and manually prepared samples were inadvertently switched. The correct Figure 6c appears below as Figure 1. This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.
Visualization and analysis of gene expression in tissue sections by spatial transcriptomics
Spatial structure of RNA expression RNA-seq and similar methods can record gene expression within and among cells. Current methods typically lose positional information and many require arduous single-cell isolation and sequencing. Ståhl et al.
