All the emotional stages of self-isolating at uni from 'I can't do this' to 'enlightenment'
Coronavirus cases are absolutely blowing up across British universities. If you’re a uni student right now, the chances are you either know several people self-isolating or you’re isolating yourself. If you’re lucky and don’t manage to actually contract the virus (fingers crossed), then self-isolation is just two weeks of staying inside and waiting around. Back in March, staying inside your flat for two weeks seemed like the end of the world. Now, it’s just a thing we all have to do. Is it ideal?

A thorough investigation into the worst fashion worn in Glee
Glee is a hot mess. The show covers everything from a teenage stripper named White Chocolate to a Spanish teacher that probably should be registered as a sex offender. And still, the Glee cast version of “Don’t Stop Believin'” lives in my head rent-free (the Regionals version, obviously). In this way, Glee has a lot in common with early 2010s fashion: cringe af but let’s be real, we all loved our low rise jeans and ironic mustache t-shirts.

Picture this: you really need a new pair of jeans. You can’t spend a lot of money on them but don’t want to get a cheap pair from Primark that won’t last you three months. You decide to hit up your local charity shops for a good quality pair. Little do you know that earlier that day, some girl has cleaned out Oxfam and British Heart Foundation of every single pair of jeans they have even remotely in your size. Is she just a huge fan of denim? Is she planning to dress as 2001 JT and Britney Spears?

Scottish universities are in danger of losing their ability to provide free tuition to Scottish students thanks to the coronavirus pandemic. After the date, we ask them how it all went, and most importantly, whether another one is on the cards. Did our lucky couples find love this week?
My Amazon account was hacked and I almost lost £2,000
As a uni student, spending more than £10 at once on groceries makes me sweat. So when my Amazon account was hacked and I watched around £2,000 leave two different bank accounts, I think my heart stopped. Our story begins like any other day. I had just had dinner with my flatmates and was getting ready to go out for the night. In the middle of applying mascara, I got a text from my dad asking if I'd been making any big Amazon purchases lately.
Machine-learning accelerates catalytic trend spotting
Researchers in Japan have used a machine-learning method to cut the time it takes to predict the catalytic potential of different metals. Binding between a metal surface and an adsorbate mainly depends on the electronic structure of the metal. More energy at centre of the metal’s d-band creates a stronger bond between its surface and the adsorbate. Based on this theory, scientists have long regarded a value called the d-band centre as a key indicator of a metal’s catalytic activity.
