A Special Ghost Story Around the Fire with D. V. Stone
Haunted Serenade by Anna M. Taylor PG-13 All the women in Anora Madison's family have lived haunted by the curse of Poor Butterfly: women still longing for but deserted by the men they loved. Determined to be the first to escape a life of abandonment, Anora fled Harlem for Brooklyn, not only severing her ties with her mother Angela, but also ending her relationship with Winston Emerson, her lover and the father of her child.

One of the nice things about having your own blog is the ability to help a friend out. So many of us live far a field that it's nearly impossible to get everyone in the same room at the same time. Enter Zoom or as me and my cohorts call our little get togethers, Zoom Zoom. Through this bit of modern technology Marilyn Barr and I have gotten to know each other. Bonus- she's a camper too! Exciting, right? Well my friend is an amazing author and she has a new line of books coming out.

Hello and Happy Saturday. I'm coming to your from the Sunshine State and since it's still January, I feel free to look back at last year and all the happenings. I also wanted to make sure I didn't forget to thank you all for your following, support, and friendship. As a way to say it, I'm going to share one of my go-to recipes. So, grab a chair and a hot cuppa and join me for a few minutes. Tell me, how often does someone pop by and you have nothing to put on the table?

Happy New Year, my friends! Today's scheduled guest was unable to make it so yours truly is going to take up your time today. So many things are happening and have happened. Today I've set up my new temporary office in 2Hoots. You remember her? My 5th Wheel camper. We had a great adventure while heading to Pete's new job in Northern Florida. Let's begin on New Year's Eve. Anyone who knows me, understands I have to be settled. We'd packed up the house and loaded up the camper.

Happy New Year to you all! Another year under our belts and we made it. Maybe not the way we would have liked. But I truly believe that adversity molds us into the person we are today and continues to shape us for the one tomorrow. 2021 brought major changes to my life. Some good, others? Not so much. I will tell you that my personality is optimistic. I get through by having hope and believing things will get better.

Good morning and Merry Christmas! I celebrate the season knowing this is not the actual day of Jesus birth. No one really knows what day it is, but its the spirit of the day and time. Love is the theme no matter who you are or what you believe I think you can join me in trusting that Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

Only a few more days until actual winter kicks in on December 21, 2021 sometime during the night. The solstice is when the sun reaches its most southerly point in the sky for the year. In the Northern Hemisphere its the shortest day and longest night. The Southern Hemisphere has its longest day and shortest night. I for one enjoy the daylight. A few years ago I went to Alaska near the end of April.

Happy new week! I hope you have all your shopping done and your house smells amazing. I'm not cooking on Thursday but Friday. We'll have the usual, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes. There will be a few side dishes. Corn is a must have for my husband. Oh, and pumpkin pie too. I hope you enjoy today's guest at the fire. You know sometimes we have a fire in the fireplace, sometimes in the firepit. One time we had a New Years Eve one upstate.
It's a special fireside chat with fellow Wild Rose Press author Margot Johnson. I made the fire extra warm today.
It's a special fireside chat with fellow Wild Rose Press author Margot Johnson. I made the fire extra warm today. She's from the way north in Canada and reminded me of my years in Minnesota and what -40 degrees feels like. No a recommended temp for strolling through the woods, just saying. But whether it's warm or cold where you are you're always welcome to share my fire. Now let's grab a cup of something soothing and you are encouraged to join the conversation.
Around The Fire Welcomes Today's Guest, Bestselling Author, Ruth Casie.
Happy Monday to you all. It's a chilly day in New Jersey but I've lit the fire so it's toasty warm. Thank you for joining me and today's special guest who is also from the Garden State. Ruth is a best selling author and her latest book releases November 16th. Yep, tomorrow! So grab a cuppa and join the conversation. Hi, Ruth. Thank you for joining me today at the fire. Let's get right to it. Who you are other than your bio? I am the proud mother of three wonderful children.

Happy Saturday! Thank you for joining us today at the fire. We've had a few gorgeous days here in New Jersey and Pete, Hali and I have been hiking in the woods near our house. We even lit the chiminea and spent the evening reading around it. Is it just me or is everyone thinking it 10pm when its only 6? I hope you enjoy learning about today's guest who's also a "Jersey Girl". Hi Maria! I'm so glad you're with us today. Let's get right to it. I have a bio, you have a bio, we all have a bio.

Hi Wendy! I'm so glad you popped by today. Let's get settled with something to sip on while we chat. What can I get for you? I’m a sweet tea girl. I happen to have a Cold Brewed Sweet Tea on board. So while I pour a couple of icy ones can you get started and tell us about any camping adventures you've had?

Hi, Fran. Thank you for joining me today at the campfire. While I grab some refreshments why don't you tell us if you're a camper and if not, about your favorite adventure. What can I grab while you do that? I love wine! Wonderful! The camper is always well stocked. Often while we're camping we check out the local wineries. I'll pour while you dish on your adventures. I have never camped in my life, nor do I ever plan to. I am decidedly not an outdoor gal.

One of the things about camping are the wonderful people you meet or hope to meet. Tena and I are both Fivers and have talked about me heading out west so we can meet in person over an actual campfire not the virtual one. Recently, I corresponded with another author who invited me to visit her. Let me tell you, when you get a pair or a group of writers together the discussions are amazing. After all these are your "tribe".

Welcome to camp, Elizabeth. What can I get for you? The camp fridge is like wishing stone. Ask and it appears. Coffee (expresso). But only in the morning (can’t speak before I have some). The rest of the day, Crystal Light lemonade or water. I used to own a Specialty Coffee shop called Heavenly Brew and even went to Philadelphia to become a barista. So, guess what-bam-espresso it is. Are you or have you camped?

Today's guest is author Lyndi Alexander who always dreamed of faraway worlds and interesting alien contacts. She lives as a post-modern hippie in Asheville, North Carolina, a single mother of her last child of seven, a daughter on the autism spectrum, who finds that every day feels a lot like first contact with a new species. Welcome Lyndi. What’s your preference, coffee, tea, cocoa, wine? The camp fridge is like the Starship Enterprise. You speak it, you get it.

Today the Campfire is coming to you from a favorite place. On the outskirts of Lancaster is New Holland, PA. One of the things about campfires, is campers are like moths to the flame. One year we were in Florida and not allowed to have our normal blaze. I'm sorry but it didn't feel like we were camping. Work around time. We used our hibachi grill and stuck in a Duralog. Bam! problem solved. And like I said, next thing we had a few folks haul their chairs around and chatted the night away.

I'm sure for many of you the holidays were a bit different. My dear husband and I drove and delivered porch presents in the pouring rain. We waved and moved on. Then came home and had a bit of turkey and the fixings. I know I'm not the only one looking forward to 2021. But, in the midst of all I never want to forget the good things. There's an old hymn that says Count your blessings. Name them one by one. Seems like great advice to me. How could everything be bad when there’s cake?

Thank you readers for stopping by the campfire. This is a fun place to learn about new people, chat, and share books. If you're like me then every camping trip has time spent reading around the fire. I'm so sad I have only one trip remaining for this season. That said, the campfire blog will continue to burn merrily. I hope you enjoy today's chat with award-winning author Carol Van Den Hende Before we get started I want to let our other visitors know I read the book Carol is sharing with us.
Welcome to the Campfire
Good morning and happy Saturday. I'm so glad you could join us. Before we get to today's guest here's our camping update. We made it to Niagara Falls late last Friday night. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday we enjoyed not only beautiful weather, but the amazing sights. We walked around the Falls and took in the sights on Saturday. Sunday was wine trail day and we had a blast. Some of the wineries were along Lake Ontario and wow what an amazing sight.

Good morning! Before I welcome today's guest to my actual campfire, I want to give you a camping update. As many of you know, my dear husband Pete retired. We've been looking forward to this Retirement Camping Trip. Last night we arrived at the https://koa.com/campgrounds/niagara-falls-new-york/ The nice thing about traveling with your own rig is the control you have for social distancing. We are entirely self contained and can enjoy our trips not worrying about masks and dirty restrooms etc.
