My name is Anna and I'm a journalism and environmental studies student at New York University. Right now I'm an intern at amNew York and working on my honors thesis about homelessness in the city.
In the last four years, I've interned at the Evanston RoundTable, Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer's office, New York Press (now known as Our Town Downtown), The Chief-Leader, The New York Observer, Audubon Magazine (with the National Audubon Society) and Huffington Post.
I originally hail from Evanston, home of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism and the northernmost suburb of Chicago that is plagued with gang violence. I moved to New York in 2009, but still enjoy grass, trees and the word "budge" (midwesterners know what that word means).
