Anna Romandash’s Biography

I am an award-winning writer and journalist. Winner of Council of Europe, Internews, and European Youth Press Media Prizes. Storyteller. Podcast producer. Plus, I do communications.

Currently, working on my book documenting the role of women in cultural preservation during armed conflicts. I write and produce audio-stories that highlight human rights violations, tell the reality of war and conflict, and focus on individuals and communities that are making an impact. I have an extensive experience working in Eastern and Central Europe, and I have also worked in Western Europe, USA, Argentina, and Central Asia as a reporter and a communications expert.

I collaborated with CNN, Radio Free Europe, Open Government Partnership, Freedom House, and Deutsche Welle, and also, worked on media-related projects in Eastern Europe with Digital Communication Network. I am a Hansen Leadership Institute, Personal Democracy Forum, and ICANN fellow.

I've spoken and presented my work at global events such as RightsCon, Global Media Forum, and Digital Transformation Forum. I was named Media Freedom Ambassador of Ukraine for my human rights and media work, and was one of the winners of the European Institute of Mediterranean literary contest for my reporting.
