Anna Staver’s Biography
Politics was my first love.
My father is a Republican while my mother is Democrat. So our dinner table discussions often centered around public policy.
I’m remember feeling deeply conflicted when deciding whether to vote for President George Bush or soon-to-be President Bill Clinton in my elementary school’s 1992 mock presidential election.
Picking a favorite candidate felt like picking a favorite parent.
Looking back, it seems only fitting that I grew up to be a political reporter.
My job keeps me steeped in affairs of state while requiring an open mind and a willingness to listen to all sides of an argument the way I still listen to my mom and dad when I visit them for dinner.
