What was your first job as a journalist?

My first paid job in journalism was working as an intern at WKSU, an NPR affiliate station in northeast Ohio.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

No.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

I think it's a tie between Henry Hackett the movie from "The Paper" and Kent Brockman from the television show "The Simpsons."

What's your favorite social network?

I'd have to say Twitter because it's where I first read about breaking news from around the world.

Why did you become a journalist?

I became a journalist because I can't imagine being anything else.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I did not. I'm not sure my high school had a paper.

When's the best time to pitch you?

In the morning.
