Ben Pearse Photography
When you say the name Ben Pearse Photography, I'm instantly taken to the Blue Mountains. For me, Ben is known for his landscape portraits of the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains National Park. Ben photographs the serene, landscape of the Blue Mountains, with such style and elegance in his photos. What makes Ben Pearce special, for me, is he takes me to the heart of his image and I feel like I'm standing right there, experiencing these locations and the scenery right with him.
North Head Sanctuary
Memorial Walk and Avenue of Honour Heading east from the car park is a wheelchair accessible path were we learn about The Attack on Sydney Harbour in 1942. A Monument Lookout, dedicated to the Armed Forces who defended Sydney with glorious views of Sydney Harbour. Displayed plaques explaining the attack on Sydney by the Japanese Midget Submarines, are also found here.
Deep Pass Newnes Plateau
A very popular bush walking area, with expansive camping area, open fires allowed – conditions permitting. I had the privilege as a child to explore Deep Pass and that was in 1986. Deep Pass today is still etched in my mind, like I was there just yesterday From my understanding apart from tracks, not much environmental damage has been done since then. It was 4WD accessible, but this was closed to vehicles a few years later and only accessible by foot. Deep Pass is within the Newnes State Forest.
Anvil Rock Trail, Blue Mountains National Park
Where can you go and not hear - 'Are we there yet?' I have your solution. Head for Hat Hill Road, Blackheath, which runs north off the main road of Blackheath. Still on Hat Hill Road drive along, Anvil Ridge, approx 8kms part dirt. Spectacular views of Mt Bank can be seen to the right side. 900m before Perry's Lookdown, turn left 500m along is the car park, right at the base of trail. The entire area, from every angle, features the spectacular scenery the Blue Mountains is renown for.
