Is There a Genetic Link Between Resting Infrared Thermography in Young Horses and Longevity in Jumping Competition?
1 Introduction In today's agro-ecological context, livestock sectors are looking for resilient animals and management methods that respect animal health and well-being. For the equine industry, identifying early markers of functional longevity in show jumping horses directly supports these objectives—by both improving the animals' inherent robustness and by anticipating the need to manage their careers differently through early knowledge of their weaknesses.
