What was your first job as a journalist?

I graduated college and knew I wanted to work for CNN but didn't have any experience so I started at the bottom as a CNN Tour Guide.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

I suppose I should feel guilty but no, I've never used a typewriter. I was brought up on computers.

How is social media changing news?

I wouldn't know how to do my job without social media. Twitter and TweetDeck are my best friends in breaking news. It's a critical tool.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

TWITTER and TweetDeck are crucial

What's your favorite social network?

Personal- Pintrest / Work- Twitter

Why did you become a journalist?

I have an insatiable need to know. It's really as simple as that.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

My high school didn't have a newspaper.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Never turn down an opportunity-- big or small. Grow a thick skin and never stop being curious.
