Ballin’ or Bawlin’: making friends
This week’s verdict: Ballin’ What’s up, what’s up, what’s up! I really love meeting new people. In fact, I think talking to people is one of my favorite things in the entire world. I love asking them questions about themselves, and I also adore learning new things about them that they don’t explicitly tell me. However, like I’ve said before, I’m a pretty awkward person.
UIL Band Marching reflects a streak of success
Under the bright stadium lights of Little Elm Stadium, the Redhawks band performed at the UIL Band Marching Competition on Saturday, receiving Superior ratings and advancing to the Area round. “The biggest obstacle we faced was tempo alignment on our slow, lyrical feature of the show,” senior Samrat Baiju said. “The tempo is a lot slower and, in the middle of the movement, there’s a tempo change.
Ballin’ or Bawlin’: oversharing
This week’s verdict: Bawlin’ I feel like I would define myself as a pretty awkward person. I find it difficult to hold conversation without spilling my guts out. Like when the second things get even remotely awkward I, oddly, feel the overwhelming urge to start sharing my deepest darkest secrets. This habit can go one to two ways. In the best case scenario, you and the person you’re talking to bond over something and you’ve found your newest bestie for the restie.
Orchestra’s energy is up before their first concert
The tuning of instruments, the rustle of sheet music, and that familiar pre-show nervous energy. These are the sounds of Redhawk orchestra gearing up for their first concert of the year on Tuesday in the auditorium. For many students, this opening concert offers an opportunity for a learning experience and musical growth. “Performing at concerts always gives me an opportunity to learn from my mistakes, and grow as a musician,” sophomore Avantika Raja said.
Ballin’ or Bawlin’: relationships
This week’s verdict: Bawlin’ (but wanting to brawl) This week was intensely aggravating, it literally wouldn’t end. School wasn’t good, shocker, but the real maddening part was people constantly talking about romantic relationships. Like, I get it; something super good is happening to you, or you want something super good to happen to you, and you want to talk about it. It’s fine, it happens to the best of us. However, it gets to the point of being too much.
5 Production & Manufacturing Resume Examples: Guide, Template, & Skills
A production and manufacturing resume is a key document for professionals looking to build a career in the manufacturing industry. From manufacturing engineering and production planning to plant operations and shop-floor management, manufacturing roles require a combination of technical knowledge, operational expertise, quality awareness, and the ability to deliver measurable improvements.
Ballin’ or Bawlin’: people pleasing
This weeks Verdict: Ballin’ This past week was considerably less busy than the week before, academically speaking. With a lighter workload, I had more time to focus on my friendships, for better or worse. I also had a lot of time for self-reflection, especially since I recently got into journaling (I’m now an avid fan!). Bouncing off that, I have spent a lot of time reflecting on my past and current friendships.

To help families better understand their options, the University of North Texas is hosting a financial aid night Monday at the UNT Frisco campus from 6-8 p.m. with check-in beginning at 5:15 p.m. The event will provide information about financial aid programs, including FAFSA, TASFA, and other scholarship opportunities.
Ballin’ or Bawlin’: keeping up
This weeks verdict: bawlin’ I feel like this week was truly a punch in the face–figuratively speaking of course (admin please don’t come for me.) This week, in particular, was truly awful because the school work and responsibilities just suddenly ramped up out of nowhere, with absolutely no end in sight. For the past couple of weeks, teachers and the curriculum have been giving students a grace period. Classes have been overall pretty easy, and it wasn’t incredibly difficult to keep up with.

The Redhawk theatre department is kicking off its year with the musical Blood Brothers, with the first read through and rehearsal beginning Wednesday. Kindness vs. Niceness
High school is a time where teenagers learn, grow, and become more mature versions of themselves. But sometimes it seems like everyone is so focused on being nice instead of kind, leading to a lack of authenticity within relationships. There is a difference between being nice and being kind and having empathy. Being nice could be smiling at people or being simply polite. However, being kind is actually looking out for your peers and caring about what a person might be going through.
Students say aloha to football season at Friday’s pep rally
Hawaiian vibes will be filling the gym on Friday as students say aloha at Friday’s first pep rally of the year during the advisory period. Performances from band, drill team, and cheer are on the schedule along with a couple of games for students helping introduce new students to the Redhawk community and culture. “Last year, the first pep rally we had really made me feel welcome and at home at Liberty, and I really like how everybody got to show off their skills,” sophomore Avantika Raja said.
To tell the truth or put feelings on the line
“Do I look bad today?” An age-old question that has probably wrecked an unimaginable number of friendships. Many people would also consider this question to have no clear answer, I mean what do you do? Are you honest with them or do you sugar coat things? Are you willing to hurt their feelings if it means telling them the truth, or would you rather lie to preserve their feelings? From the outside looking in, the answer seems clear, if a friend asks for your opinion, you answer your unfiltered truth.
Ignorance continues through microaggressions
“Chill, I was just joking.” “Why can’t you take a joke?” “No offense, but…” These phrases echo through high school hallways more often than we’d like to admit. For many students of color, they are not harmless jokes. They are reminders that prejudice is not always outright, sometimes it hides behind laughter.
Theater wraps up with senior directs
By the time senior year rolls around, theatre students have spent years memorizing scripts, waiting in the wings, learning cues, however now they are the ones directing the show. Senior Directs are an opportunity of senior students to direct one last show before they graduate high school. The productions are typically one-act plays rehearsed from the end of March through the first week of May with performances continuing Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday in the black box theater.

The pressure of AP classes
Categories: February 19, 2026 AP classes are college-level courses offered to high school students. Nationally, if students want to get into a competitive school, they take about 12 or more AP classes through high school. The phrase “how many APs are you taking?” is one of the most common phrases heard in hallways. At first, it can be classified as just small talk between friends. But over time, hearing it again and again creates an overwhelming sense of pressure.
