Interview

Have you ever used a typewriter?

Definitely, I used to write stories on typewriter only. I still love it!

What's your favorite social network?

LinkedIn, Instagram and Twitter

Who do you wish followed you?

I wish more tech journalists, policy analysts, and digital governance experts followed my work. Their engagement would foster valuable dialogue on India's evolving tech landscape and amplify the reach of key government initiatives.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Aspiring journalists: prioritize accuracy, cultivate strong sources, and adapt to the evolving digital landscape. Embrace multimedia storytelling and understand the nuances of government communication.

What's the best pitch you ever got?

As a Media Manager at MeitY, the best pitches I've encountered are those that:Align with national tech priorities: Pitches that directly address India's digital transformation goals, cybersecurity advancements, or AI development resonate strongly.Offer tangible impact: Proposals that clearly demonstrate how their technology or initiative will benefit citizens or the industry are highly valued.Provide data-driven insights: Pitches backed by solid research and data are more compelling than those based on assumptions. Are concise and relevant: In a fast-paced environment, brevity and relevance are key.Demonstrate understanding of the government's objectives: Pitches that show an understanding of MeitY's mission and goals are more likely to be successful.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

That government digital communication is simply about broadcasting information. Many underestimate the strategic planning, nuanced messaging, and real-time engagement required to effectively connect with diverse audiences and manage complex narratives within the technology and policy space.
