April Jones, Esq., received her Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in 1991 and is in her 27th year of practicing law and is licensed in California and Colorado. She has managed her own law practice since 1994. In the first half of her career she maintained a district and federal court practice that included civil litigation, employment law, criminal, school discrimination, wills and family law. Her practice now focuses primarily on family law. She is currently Vice President of the Denver Bar Association and a former President of the Sam Cary Bar Association. In addition to managing her law practice, in 2016 the Colorado House of Representatives appointed Ms. Jones to serve as Commissioner on the Independent Ethics Commission where she is Vice Chairman and holds public hearings on ethic complaints. In 2016 she was appointed by the Regents of the University of Colorado and confirmed by the Colorado Senate to serve on the Board of University of Colorado Hospital. She believes in public service as evidenced by her numerous other appointments and board positions. When not volunteering or practicing law, she enjoys reading, writing, world travel and spending time with family and friends including her husband of 25 years.
