John Myers’s Biography
The Fifth Archbishop of Newark, John Myers has served in priestly and episcopal ministry for nearly 50 years. Currently the spiritual leader to 1.5 million Catholics in northern New Jersey, Myers attended Loras College, Dubuque IA before enrolling in seminary at North American College in Rome. After being ordained as a priest at St. Peter's Basilica, he earned a licentiate in sacred theology at Gregorian University. Subsequently, Archbishop John Myers received a juris doctor with honors from Seton Hall University Law School and doctor of humane letters with honors from Mount St. Mary’s University,Emmitsburg, MD Loras College and St. Peter's University, Jersey City.
