Twitter has brought about the era of 'real-time journalism', which has a huge impact on how news is shared.

Will McAvoy, Newsroom TV series.

What's your favorite social network?

Twitter, by far. It's my ultimate source of news.

Why did you become a journalist?

I wanted to be a part of the national and global conversation about Pakistan. I also wanted to help shape that conversation.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

No, my high school didn't offer one.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I have yet to write an original piece that I've reported on.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Do you value your sanity? If yes, this is not the profession for you.
