How To Spend Valentine's Day Alone
In a shock to no one, I am single on Valentine’s Day, again. This is partly because I’ve been single for so long that I’m having trouble breaking the habit, and partly because I ended every “relationship” I had this year before it really got a chance to get started. In my defense, one of the men I dated this year DID spit his gum into the grass while we were in the park... and I saw a bird eat it.
Chafing Remedies To Make Summer More Bearable
It's chafing season. If you know, you know. If you don’t know, it’s like this: I’m walking around in my cute little sundress enjoying an ice cream cone and ignoring all my life’s troubles, when I start to feel my legs rubbing together. I think it’ll be OK, until I feel my top layer of skin slowly… slough off. After that, every single step I take is absolute hell. When I finally look between my legs, I’ve got a red, bumpy, painful rash akin to poison ivy.
The Ultimate "Treat Yourself" Routine
I have only been in a relationship on Valentine’s Day once in my life. My then-boyfriend sent me chocolates in lieu of actually spending time with me (he lived an entire 50 minutes away if you can believe it), and I sat alone in my dorm room while eating the whole box in my underwear. It was awesome. Spending time alone indulging in something sweet was more satisfying (you can interpret that however you’d like) than spending time with a college boy.
Rory Gilmore Is The Ultimate Fall Beauty Icon
When I’m not writing about cruelty-free beauty, my love of three pound weights, or my sweet gig sitting at the front desk at Glossier HQ, I’m watching Gilmore Girls. So many Gilmore Girls. All 153 episodes (157 if you count the revival) at least five times, which makes me a self-proclaimed expert.
Show Off Your Arms This Summer
Summer is fun for a lot of reasons. Going to the beach, leaving work while it’s still bright outside, flirting with lifeguards because I'm “not sure if I saw a shark….” But it also means I have to change how I dress. Fall through spring I feel like a queen in my uniform of choice: high waisted jeans, an oversized sweater*, and booties. But then every year, summer comes around and I’m like “Oh I guess I’ll just be half naked in public a bunch now.” Tank tops and sundresses should be fun, right?

Everything In My Cruelty-Free Makeup Bag
Hi, I am Ariel and I cry when I meet dogs. I bombed a recent audition where I was asked to “pretend like I was seeing a puppy I was going to adopt tomorrow” because I started weeping. I grew up in a house where my mother called our dogs “her girls.” I am literally her daughter, but I was not one of “her girls.” She loves our dogs more than me, but it’s fine because I love them more than her, too. I think my second favorite thing, after meeting dogs, is buying makeup.
