Interview

How is social media changing news?

Social media, although a boon for the media industry, has also mainstreamed fake news too.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

A journalist is one who poses questions and speaks truth to the power. One who reports on issues of all kinds from the grassroots.

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

I would like to be emailed and briefed on the pitch.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Grammarly, Ludwig, quillbot, power thesaurus and Headline analyzer.

Who do you wish followed you?

Journalists, Editors, Activists, Media organizations, researchers, etc.

Why did you become a journalist?

Because it is the best thing I can be: bringing stories for the untold and unheard.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

Read a lot. Do not fret over going to a media school. Just have the aptitude to deep dive into things, and most importantly keep pitching.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime, but preferably in the evening hours from 5 pm to 9 pm.
