Food we eat can protect us from cancer
One of the important components of the whole food plant-based (WFPB) nutrition that METI is promoting for the control and reversal of non-communicable diseases (NCD) like diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease and cancer are legumes. This includes beans, peas or lentils – which are small peas.
So you’ve ruptured your Achilles tendon
Talofa Samoa and welcome back to your weekly Physiotherapy column! Today’s column comes to you from PHYX Physio & Pilates in Australia and covers Achilles’ tendon ruptures. If your Achilles tendon ruptures, you may hear a ‘pop’ sound and feel an immediate sharp pain in the back of your heel and lower leg which is likely to affect your ability to walk. As physios, we often hear that it feels like you’ve been kicked in the back of your ankle at the time of the rupture.
Samoa and poor customer service
In general, let me say, that there is no good customer service in Samoa. Despite of the fact that several intents has been made by the Chamber of Commerce and others to educate the business community and the government agencies; the customer service is way below what we expect in other advanced countries; of which we are one, but apparently Just in name. Ancestral heritage is all we have; it’s all we have left
Deeply concerned about the influx of foreign interests and the negative impact of violence on young people, a church leader mourned the erosion of Samoan values and the place of faa-Samoa in our lives. A matai recently shared a complaint with the Samoa Observer over what he calls abuses in cultural practices at funerals which have added economic burden on the aiga. I agree.
We lose to guns and bullets, we lose ourselves Samoa
With the blessing of P.M. Tuilaepa and the Human Rights Protection Party, former L.A.P.D officer and new police chief, Fuiava Egon Keil immediately infused a brand new leadership style upon assuming full responsibility of Samoa’s police force. Guns and bullets. They are the new normal now for Samoa and it is generating a lot of fear and public concerns.
