Interview

What was your first job as a journalist?

My 1st professional experience in journalism was a 1-month internship at the AP newsroom in London. I dabbled in TV, photo and wires.

Have you ever used a typewriter?

No - but I have used floppy disks. Just as antiquated, in this day and age.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

Tweetdeck. Certain Google search tools are particularly useful. DomainTools and TinEye help a lot. DropVox for iPhone is a life-saver.

Why did you become a journalist?

Hard to pinpoint a specific moment, but living in pre-revolutionary Tunisia showed me how much a free press mattered.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I went to a French high school, which didn't even have a newspaper. French schools don't really emphasize extracurricular activities.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

So far, my long-form piece on baseball in France. So many fascinating people, lots of fun to report.

When's the best time to pitch you?

Anytime !
