I love writing about all kinds of motorsports. Each racing category has its advantages and disadvantages, but they are exciting in their own ways. Formula 1, 2 and 3 are my favourite categories as they have a long history and get to race all around the world. I also enjoy F1 Academy, Formula E and IndyCar as they mainly depend on the driver rather than the car.

My first work experience was at the chemicals company, SASOL and it gave me an insight into an office environment. The day also taught me that there are a multitude of jobs that make the team efficient and effective. Furthermore, I learned that communications skills are essential as asking questions reduces the risk of making mistakes and informs an individual.

At university, I learned a vast amount of information about all types of journalism. I have also received a BJTC and NCTJ qualification. I learned all about the basics of journalism, as well as specific aspects such as features and investigative journalism. Furthermore, I was taught about the importance of law and ethics in journalism, such as in court reporting. Since I am a multi-media journalist, I know how to make content in a video, audio and written format for different platforms.

I created my own WordPress website, where I post weekly about motorsports. Understanding SEO and CMS greatly assisted me when I built my website, as well as my digital writing skills. I also showcased my TV and radio work I did at university with plenty of examples, on my website.

Moreover, volunteering in Rwanda in 2020 was a first-hand experience of another culture as well as a chance to help less fortunate children and pregnant women. My charity work there helped me realise how a story about my experience could bring more awareness to the charity.

My second work experience was writing for PlanetSport for two months about motorsport. I helped create a portfolio of a variety of work on my author profile. I learned about what makes a good article and how to pitch one to an editor. I greatly enjoyed my placement as I got to write about what I love and am passionate about.

I did a politics A-level meaning I have a wide range of knowledge on UK and US politics. I also did an A-level is history where I learned how to the evaluate of sources and interpretations, and determine their validity is crucial in journalism; fact checking is extremely important. Furthermore, as an English student at A-level, I can construct a convincing argument and explore alternative viewpoints with a clear line of argument.
