B. Alexandra Szerlip’s Biography
B. Alexandra Szerlip was a two-time National Endowment for the Arts Fellow, a two-time Yaddo Fellow, a MacDowell Fellow, recipient of a Villa Lena (Florence) residency, and a 2019 EIJ (Excellence in Journalism) Award.
Her biography, The Man Who Designed the Future: Norman Bel Geddes and the Invention of 20th Century America (Melville House, NY/London) was voted "One of the Top Ten Art Books of 2017" by the American Library Association.
The book led to a bi-monthly column -- "Vintage Tech" -- in The Believer.
She has worked in professional theater (both onstage and designing/running tech) and has had some success as a graphic designer and mixed-media sculptor.
