Condensed Matter > Disordered Systems and Neural Networks
Neural networks provide expressive representations for scientific computing. However, even sufficiently expressive networks can suffer training failure in weak-gradient regimes, limiting their practical use in quantum many-body physics and ab initio quantum chemistry. Here we derive an unbiased direct gradient estimator and introduce the adaptive minimum-variance phase (AMVP) estimator for neural-network variational optimization.
Quantum Hall effect at 0.002 T in graphene - Nature Communications
Abstract Graphene enables precise carrier-density control via gating, making it an ideal platform for studying electronic interactions. However, sample inhomogeneities often limit access to the low-density regimes where these interactions dominate. Enhancing carrier mobility is therefore crucial for exploring fundamental properties and developing device applications.
Susceptibility indicator for chiral topological orders emergent from correlated fermions
Chiral topological orders formed in correlated fermion systems have been widely explored. However, the mechanism of how they emerge from interacting fermions is still unclear. Here, we propose a susceptibility condition. Under this condition, we show that chiral topological orders can spontaneously take place in correlated fermion systems. The condition leads to a low-energy effective theory of bosons with strong frustration, mimicking flat-band systems.
Observation of giant non-reciprocal charge transport from quantum Hall states in a topological insulator - Nature Materials
Abstract Symmetry breaking in quantum materials is of great importance and can lead to non-reciprocal charge transport. Topological insulators provide a unique platform to study non-reciprocal charge transport due to their surface states, especially quantum Hall states under an external magnetic field.
Effective impurity behavior emergent from non-Hermitian proximity effect - Communications Physics
Abstract Non-Hermitian boundaries commonly take place in many open quantum systems locally coupled to a surrounding environment. Here, we reveal a type of non-Hermitian effect induced by non-Hermitian boundaries, the non-Hermitian proximity effect (NHPE), which describes the penetration of non-Hermiticity from the boundary into the bulk. For gapped quantum systems, the NHPE generates in-gap states with imaginary eigenenergies, termed “imaginary in-gap states".
Excitonic topological order in imbalanced electron–hole bilayers - Nature
Abstract Correlation and frustration play essential roles in physics, giving rise to novel quantum phases1,2,3,4,5,6. A typical frustrated system is correlated bosons on moat bands, which could host topological orders with long-range quantum entanglement4. However, the realization of moat-band physics is still challenging.
Saturated Nonsingular Fast Sliding Mode Control for the Crane-Form Pipeline System
Abstract : The crane-form pipeline (CFP) system is a kind of petrochemical mechanical equipment composed of multiple rotating joints and rigid pipelines. It is often used to transport chemical fluid products in the factory to tank trucks. In order to realize the automatic alignment of the CFP and the tank mouth, the trajectory tracking control problem of the CFP must be solved. Therefore, a saturated nonsingular fast terminal sliding mode (SNFTSM) algorithm is proposed in this paper.
