Mediating Carbon Black-Natural Rubber Interface by Thioamide-Functionalized Polysulfide for Energy-Saving Composites
Mediating Carbon Black-Natural Rubber Interface by Thioamide-Functionalized Polysulfide for Energy-Saving Composites Interfacial modification of carbon black (CB)-filled natural rubber (NR) composites is crucial for achieving uniform CB dispersion and robust interfacial interaction, with the goals of improving mechanical properties and reducing hysteresis loss.
Crosslinking diene rubbers by inverse vulcanised co-polymer
Crosslinking diene rubbers by inverse vulcanised co-polymer Crosslinking of diene rubbers by traditional sulfur-based curing package inevitably utilizes the toxic activators and accelerants, which causes potential dangers and environmental pollution. Herein, we report that the inverse vulcanised co-polymer synthesized under the catalysis of organic base is highly efficient in crosslinking diene rubbers with a radical pathway in a green manner.
Biomimetic Design of Elastomeric Vitrimers with Unparalleled Mechanical Properties, Improved Creep Resistance and Retained Malleability by Metal-Ligand Coordination
Biomimetic Design of Elastomeric Vitrimers with Unparalleled Mechanical Properties, Improved Creep Resistance and Retained Malleability by Metal-Ligand Coordination Vitrimers can undergo network reshuffling via exchange reactions, imparting the covalently crosslinked polymers with malleability and reprocessibility. In the case of elastomeric vitrimers, they usually suffer from poor mechanical properties and undergo undesired creep at service temperature.

Bioinspired Engineering of Two Different Types of Sacrificial Bonds into Chemically Cross-Linked cis-1,4-Polyisoprene toward a High-Performance Elastomer - Macromolecules (ACS Publications)
The development of advanced elastomers with a combination of high strength, large extensibility, and excellent flex-cracking resistance is a huge challenge. In this contribution, we proposed a novel strategy to engineer a multinetwork by incorporating weaker sacrificial hydrogen bonds and stronger Zn-based units into a chemically cross-linked cis-1,4-polyisoprene network. The dynamic nature allows the sacrificial bonds to be ruptured and re-formed, resulting in high stretchability.
