“Let His Light Shine!”
A couple of summers ago, my family and I had the privilege of taking a trip North of Duluth and we visited the beautiful and famous “Split Rock Lighthouse”, located on the North Shore of Lake Superior. As many of you know, this lighthouse was built in response to the great winter gale of Nov. 27-29, 1905, that claimed 78 lives and disabled or destroyed 29 ships.
It’s Back to School Time
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6,7 Every year during the summertime, we as parents have the pleasure of having our children at home throughout the day.
It’s Summertime - Claremont Messenger
Summer is in full swing and that means that it is that time of the year to break out the flip-flops, sunscreen, and charcoal. As people make their way to the lake, as they gather for summer BBQs, and sit out by the pool it can be easy to allow the relaxed atmosphere of summertime to carry over into our walk with the Lord. Packed calendars, summer weddings, family reunions, and squeezing in some sort of vacation can leave you needing a vacation from your vacation.
The Lord is My Shepherd!
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul;…” Psalm 23:1-3 I remember that one of the first Bible passages that I had the privilege of memorizing as a child, was Psalm 23. In Psalm 23, David compares the Lord to a shepherd who lovingly tends his flock. Through this passage, we learn that Jehovah God – the all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present God, tenderly cares for those who belong to Him.
Awesome God! - Claremont Messenger
As I go through the day, probably like many of you out there, I often find myself contemplating on the majesty of God and saying: “God, you are such an awesome God!” In this short article, I would like to briefly share with you a few things about this majestic God, the God of the Bible. He is my God and the God of all those who put their trust in Him. As most of you know, the theory of evolution says that life began millions of years ago by a cosmic accident called “The Big Bang”.
Graduates, Trust God! - He’s Got You!
It’s that time of the year again - caps are tossed into the air, cameras flash with proud smiles, and graduates stand at the edge of a brand-new journey. Graduation is more than a ceremony; it marks a season of change, transition, and new beginnings. Our graduates are stepping into a season of constant change, where new experiences, opportunities, and challenges will shape their path ahead.
Living a Life That Bears Fruit
Spring is here and it is great to slowly see farmers out on their fields getting ready to plant their seeds and people getting more and more out of their homes, enjoying the fun activities that come with this season. Pretty soon, our family will be out in our back yard in our little vegetable garden tilling the ground and planting some tomato and pepper plants. Moving here from the desert of Arizona a little over thirteen years ago, and now being able to do this, feels very special every year.
O What a Savior, O Hallelujah
“When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, He said, It is finished: and He bowed His head, and gave up the ghost.” John 19:30 For us Christians, this week, from Palm Sunday to Easter Sunday is the most important week of the year. We are commemorating the crucifixion, death, and resurrection of the One whose name is above all names - Jesus Christ. I would like to remind you briefly that while Christ was on the cross on Good Friday, He made 7 statements that are recorded for us in the gospels.

Pastors Corner - Claremont Messenger
We live in a world where we want everything in a hurry. I've seen folks stand in front of a microwave and complain that it takes a full minute to heat up a cup of coffee! Can you relate? We like drive-thru convenience, all things disposable, and cell phone availability. And never have so many complained of having so little time to enjoy life. Through the years I’ve also observed that more and more people are sacrificing enduring truth for quick fixes.
