My novel, The Deeper, The Bluer, won a Writer's Digest Book Award for First Prize in Mainstream Fiction.

I founded TheWritingField.com and WritingLifeStories.com. I mentored for The Afghan Women's Writing Project and was regional manager for The Op Ed Project. I was featured in Generation Women's storytelling event in New York City. I'm a former member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.
