What Should Educational Institutions Do Next For Title IX Now That Biden's Final Rule Was Blocked By A Federal Judge?
Title IX's Final Rule issued in April 2024 was struck down nationwide. Covered educational institutions should consult with counsel to determine their compliance options moving forward. On January 9, 2025, the Biden administration's Title IX Final Rule was struck down by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, which declared the regulations unconstitutional for all schools nationwide. The case is State of Tennessee v. Cardona.

Health care is never free
By Barbara Gross, Las Vegas Monday, March 7, 2022 | 2 a.m. I read with interest the Feb. 27 story “For undocumented immigrants in Nevada, health care options are limited.” Of particular interest was that undocumented immigrants look to California to get health services. The story also notes that with a change in policy in California taking effect in 2024, the cost will be approximately $2.2 billion. The bottom line is that taxpayers have to pay for this.

Ellen Shaw Henderson October 6, 2020 - 9:00 pmOctober 6, 2020 - 9:00 pm Stunned. Dismayed. Speechless. Those are a few of my reactions on reading the Review-Journal’s endorsement of Rep. Susie Lee, a Democrat, over challenger Republican Dan Rodimer.
LETTER: COVID by the numbers
Barbara Gross Las Vegas August 6, 2020 - 9:00 pm As I open the Sunday paper, I would like to read complete information. You are trying to scare people without giving all the information. As an example, you have a story headlined “Nevada’s grim day in COVID-19,” in which you review statistics but do not identify age of death. As of last week, there had been 832 deaths in the state, according to www.nvhealthresponse.nv.gov. Victims greater than age 70 account for 62 percent, or 504 deaths.
Part One " Better Sex Blog
I highly recommend the book Perv by Jesse Bering, The Sexual Deviant in All of Us. Bering includes many personal stories of growing up gay in America. He also explains and explores how one’s sexual interests are often formed and how each person’s sexual proclivities are, “as unique as their fingerprints.” I think this is an important perspective because many people feel that they just want to feel “normal” sexually. I often explain to my patients that there is no normal.
