Barbara Gordon’s Biography
An experienced health communications professional, Barbara Gordon most recently served as Executive Director for the Interstitial Cystitis Association of McLean, Virginia. During her time with the Interstitial Cystitis Association, Barbara Gordon maintained responsibility for shaping policy, producing printed and web-based content, and facilitating awareness opportunities via both traditional and social media outlets. In addition, she contributed to a number of published, peer-reviewed articles related to her field.
Gordon began preparing for her career as a student at the Catholic University of America in Washington, DC; at Catholic University she earned a Bachelor’s of Social Work with honors. Following this achievement, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Food and Nutrition with distinction at Simmons College before gaining acceptance to Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland; at Johns Hopkins University she received a Master’s in Business Administration. Later, she received training from the State of Maryland Department of Health and from Harvard University. When not engaged with her professional responsibilities, she enjoys pursuing a variety of enriching pastimes including listening to music, cooking, knitting and skiing. In addition to these hobbies, she enjoys expanding her perception of the world via travel.
