Back in Hospital
Barry here again. Sorry it’s been a while since the last update. A lot has happened since then – some of it encouraging, some of it not so much. Tommy got out of hospital after over a month, and was moved to a hospital bed at home. His condition seemed to be improving steadily, and after shoving a camera up his nose and down his throat, the oncologist couldn’t see any sign of the cancer! A few days later, Tommy began coughing up blood, and has now been admitted to hospital again for further tests.
Tommy is ill - Tommy V Cancer
The title of this blog post should come as no real surprise, of course – Tommy’s illness is the entire point of the blog. However, right now, he’s really ill. I’ve just spoken to his wife, Kirsty, and Tommy is really going through a very rough time of it. The doctors advised that he would continue to feel worse in the few weeks following his treatment, but even then, Tommy didn’t expect it to get this bad. He is suffering from confusion and hallucinations.
Standing in Tommy’s Corner
Hello! I’m Barry, a friend of Tommy’s. He’s roped me in to help run the site should he ever find himself too unwell to post an update. I’m interrupting his banging on about illness and hospitals an’ that to post this. Don’t tell him. Tommy and I first met online via a writer’s website about 15 years ago. We hit it off right away, sharing a similar sense of humour and the same drive to become full-time writers. Over the years, our careers have strangely mirrored one another.
