Poem: Bird Set Free
“The marks humans leave are too often scars,” I’m far removed from reality; from my thoughts debarred. Grossly unsettled my heart, frantically seeking a new beginning, Yet squeamish about sinning. Trying to find perfection in my imperfections, Guiding myself into misdirection. Amid all the subterfuge, endeavoring to make sense of it all, Demanding myself to have the gall. But I wonder if questioning the genesis of this disarray and disorder, Will make me lose myself or make me want to battle harder.
How Coronavirus Endangers The Livelihood Of Women In The Informal Sector
Systemic denial of not recognizing workers as in fact ‘workers’ in the informal sector have for decades left them at the mercy of the employer. Representational image. Kabita, a 22-year-old woman, lives in a basti next to the posh residential complexes of Kolkata’s South City. She runs a family of five- a husband, who earns his livelihood from pulling rickshaws, an old mother-in-law suffering from arthritis, a widowed sister-in-law, and two children.

Is Our Media Willing To Take The Responsibility Of Creating A Democratic, Secular Society?
In the words of Benito Mussolini, “Democracy is a kingless regime infested by many kings who are sometimes more exclusive, tyrannical and destructive than one if he is a tyrant. It is the fear of being exposed by the media that most of the politicians keep themselves under control to some extent.” A nation is an imagined community that brings together people who find a common cause to forge a new identity.
Poem On Patriarchy, Experiences Of Women
Dear Men, Try to wear a sleeveless shirt, And get stopped by a woman, Because that will make you look like a slut. Try to come home as early as possible in the night, Because the world outside will look down upon you. Try not to drink alcohol and don’t ever smoke, Because your ‘manners’ will be questioned. Try to talk in a soft voice , Because a loud voice is not what is expected from you. Try to cover every bit of skin of yours, Because otherwise the society will think you want ‘it’.
