In college, I worked as a columnist for the Daily Nebraskan, the daily newspaper at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

I have.

I could give you an answer today and be wrong tomorrow. It's changing everything and it's changing all the time.
Who's your favorite fictional journalist?
Clark Kent.
What does it mean to be a journalist?
It means working hard, keeping your eyes open and trying to be in the right place at the right time.

To have an impact on the world.
Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?
Nope.
What story are you most proud of writing or working on?
I wrote a few stories about livestock producers mismanaging their runoff, which was polluting trout streams. My worked changed the laws.
What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?
Write. Read everything you can. Too many people in this business forget they need to read for pleasure.
