Ain't this the truth..
Response to Beachnutt (Original post) Mon Sep 25, 2023, 11:36 AM I had zero interest in him just because of his reputation that came long before he decided to interject himself into politics. But the absolute breaking point that is etched in my mind was the day he mocked and belittled the disabled journalist to his face. I happened to have the tv on and he was at some event where he was blathering on, pointing at “the media” and his usual crappola.
Question for older DUers - what was December 7 1966 like?
Response to Algernon Moncrieff (Original post) Tue Sep 12, 2023, 12:47 PM with outside communications all through AFRTS (Armed Forces Radio Television) one TV channel, and one radio station. It was in a remote region; ruled by a dictator who didn't allow the local population of this area to have radio or TV unless he was on. It was very medieval and we kids just wanted to have fun on base or off. I can't remember much about anything else.

I mean, don't we WANT TFG to be the nominee?
Response to JuJuChen (Original post) Tue Aug 29, 2023, 11:31 AM As I've stated before, Trump's election victory is unlikely in my mind. But not impossible. Trump is a malignant lunatic. I can't think of anyone more destructive in the Office of the Presidency than Donald J Trump commandeering and spreading his hate cult throughout the country. I don't want to see any Republican taking the office but Agent Orange shouldn't be given a sliver of opportunity.
I'm high as hell let's talk!
Response to vercetti2021 (Original post) Sat Aug 26, 2023, 11:05 PM A couple of birthdays to celebrate and when my friend called to remind me, she had a gummie buzz going on. She loves em but I havenít had one yet. I stopped playing a longtime ago and Iím afraid I might really like em, too! Enjoy your Saturday night and stay put where you are. Pic Of The Moment: In Case You Missed Last Night's Debate
Response to underpants (Reply #8) Thu Aug 24, 2023, 01:12 PM Each one of them spent hours of planning trying to decide how much 'smile' to show. Jenna says "Ahm gunna smile like a big dork." Then Shafer, then Hall's smirk, Sydney looks like she couldn't decide. Rudy, Chesboro and Eastman just look like common, everyday thugs. Smith has that that "Oh no I just soiled myself" look. I think Haley won this debate hands down.
Response to 40oz to Freedom (Original post) Wed Aug 23, 2023, 11:14 PM Christie is going for the never Trump block. The ceiling on this block is 11% Pence clearly going for the Taliban block. Those Christians that think Trump isn’t super godly. Not sure the ceiling on this is >5%. Most of these people don't want holier than thou and they love giving money away. Haley seems to be a middle of the road candidate from last decade.
Do you have any comfort shows you watch?
Response to bif (Original post) Tue Aug 22, 2023, 03:35 PM Seasons 1-4. Whenever the world is going wrong, and it seems like the human race is in its last chaotic, hellborn days, I relax with a few episodes from the first four seasons of the greatest television show of all time. Enjoy your hurricane, uh, California
Response to beaglelover (Reply #17) Thu Aug 17, 2023, 07:39 PM Welcome to the valley. Put stuff inside that will blow away. The big thing is to make sure nothing drains to the house. Example, My HOA development has openings in the fences to the front yards from the back and River Rock to the street. You should be fine. Rancho Mirage is a bit sheltered against the mountain if you're down by Hwy 111. Otherwise. Rancho Mirage has a great library with an observatory. A lot of events.
To what extent is your "ancestry" part of your family's diet?
Response to Model35mech (Original post) Tue Aug 8, 2023, 04:14 PM 4. I'm not unaware of it Sometimes Old World traditions had basis in sound nutrition that was rejected by nutritionists and scientists for generations in America. Trans fats were one such aberration. Removing olive oil was not a benefit nutritionally. The retreat to non-fat dairy products was another. Cheeses and milk fat kept free-radicals from free-wheeling. Likewise yogurt, milk, ice cream.
What's the scariest movie you ever watched on TV or the theater. It is not my thing. Long ago, I saw
Response to debm55 (Original post) Thu Jul 27, 2023, 03:55 PM 10. Ten Commandments Parents took me to see it for my 7th birthday. That green stuff that came out of the sky to kill children -- I checked under the bed every night and slept with the light on for a year and still had nightmares. Never could get into scaring myself for fun, left the scary shows for others. My uncle used to say I was made for schmaltz given my preference for Cary Grant and Doris Day movies back in the day. .
MS is practically BEGGING me to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11.
Response to cilla4progress (Original post) Thu Jun 29, 2023, 04:40 PM 5. Yes, definitely. Win 11 is lighter and more elegant than 10 in appearance and function. I disliked 10 from the start and stayed years late with Win 8. I liked 11 since its inception. I am annoyed that I cannot install 11 on some of my older computers due to Microsoft's requirements of only allowing 11 to run on recently made processors. Always make a backup of your data before doing a drastic upgrade. Good luck.
Here's hoping TFG has to spend at least one night at Rikers....
Response to yellowcanine (Original post) Fri Mar 31, 2023, 11:00 AM 2. The only effect that one night at Rikers will have on TFG is that he will have withdrawal pains from not being able to post his "truths" to Truth Social. He should be able to stay awake though because of his unusual hours. Reply to this post Back to top Alert abuse Link here Permalink
I need pain pills for my dental pain. My dentist says he can only prescribe a few and I asked why is
Response to CTyankee (Original post) Wed Feb 1, 2023, 02:50 PM 3. This may be why he is hesitant to prescribe pain meds. ďAnti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin or naproxen work well with dental pain because they reduce inflammation,Ē says Huang. Recent data has shown the combination of Advil (ibuprofen) and Tylenol (acetaminophen) is as effective as prescription opioids for tooth pain.Dec 20, 2022 Reply to this post Back to top Alert abuse Link here Permalink

'Do You Really Want to Rebuild at 80?' Rethinking Where to Retire.
Response to Uncle Joe (Original post) Fri Nov 18, 2022, 12:06 PM 1. We moved into a Senior Living complex in September and LOVE it. After over 4 months deep cleaning and getting rid of stuff that had been accumulated over 46 years, we turned our house over to my DIL and son that they are buying, fixing up to rent out as a rental property. The move was hard, but a good choice. We pay a steep rent as compared to a Mortgage, but still manageable.
