1 Introduction and Background Medical device-related pressure injuries (MDRPIs) are localised injuries to the skin and/or underlying tissue caused by sustained pressure from diagnostic or therapeutic devices and commonly correspond to the shape or contour of the device [1, 2]. With the increasing use and complexity of medical devices in acute and critical care, MDRPIs have become an important yet largely preventable patient-safety concern.
