Laser-induced nucleation of magnetic hopfions
Abstract Hopfions are three-dimensional topological solitons formed by closed loops of vortex strings, often taking the shape of rings. In magnetic crystals, hopfions have so far been observed only in unusual configurations in which hopfion rings are linked to skyrmion strings. Although theory predicts the existence of stable, isolated hopfions, their experimental realization has remained challenging.
Cobalt hydride-mediated photocatalytic semihydrogenation of acetylene impurities for continuous-flow production of polymer-grade ethylene - Nature Catalysis
Abstract The semihydrogenation of acetylene impurities in crude ethylene streams to produce polymer-grade ethylene is important for the polyethylene industry. Photocatalytic reduction offers a promising solution in terms of sustainability. However, the current state of photocatalytic acetylene semihydrogenation systems has shown limited activity.
Multistep skyrmion phase transition driven by light-induced uniaxial strain
Abstract Strain engineering in skyrmion-hosting multilayers holds promising potential for spintronic devices. However, conventional strain is below 0.5%, limiting exploration of unique properties under substantial strain. In addition, while uniaxial strain modifies magnetic interactions anisotropically, its influence on skyrmions is underexplored.

Multiple unconventional Hall effects induced by noncoplanar spin textures in $\mathrm{SmM}{\mathrm{n}}_{2}\mathrm{G}{\mathrm{e}}_{2}$
The search for materials exhibiting multiple topological transport properties such as large anomalous Hall effect (AHE) and robust topological Hall effect (THE) are crucial for novel nanospintronic devices. However, such multiple unconventional Hall responses materials are rare in nature. Here, we report the coexistence of a giant AHE and robust THE in single crystals of SmMn2Ge2 with a noncoplanar spin texture.

Origin of the multi-phasic quenching dynamics in the BLUF domains across the species - Nature Communications
Abstract Blue light using flavin (BLUF) photoreceptors respond to light via one of nature’s smallest photo-switching domains. Upon photo-activation, the flavin cofactor in the BLUF domain exhibits multi-phasic dynamics, quenched by a proton-coupled electron transfer reaction involving the conserved Tyr and Gln. The dynamic behavior varies drastically across different species, the origin of which remains controversial.
Enhanced magnetic anisotropy induced by praseodymium ferromagnetic order and anomalous transport properties in $\mathrm{Pr}{\mathrm{Mn}}_{2}{\mathrm{Ge}}_{2}$ single crystals
Abstract Anisotropic magnetization and anomalous electrical transport properties of flux-grown PrMn2Ge2 single crystals were investigated. The grown crystals exhibit strong magnetic anisotropy with easy magnetization along the c axis. Linear magnetoresistance (MR) and a conventional anomalous Hall effect (AHE) are observed for H//c and I//b in contrast to a nonlinear positive MR and a large planar topological Hall effect (PTHE) observed for H//a and I//b.

Possible Existence of α-Sheets in the Amyloid Fibrils Formed by a TTR105-115 Mutant
Herein, we combine several methods to characterize the fibrils formed by a TTR mutant in which Leu111 is replaced by the unnatural amino acid aspartic acid 4-methyl ester.
Dentate nucleus iron deposition is a potential biomarker for tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease
Parkinson's disease (PD) is a heterogeneous neurodegenerative disorder with variable clinicopathologic phenotypes and underlying neuropathologic mechanisms. Each clinical phenotype has a unique set of motor symptoms. Tremor is the most frequent initial motor symptom of PD and is the most difficult symptom to treat. The dentate nucleus (DN) is a deep iron-rich nucleus in the cerebellum and may be involved in PD tremor.
