While some are still riding the highs of record-setting 2022, others are maybe still picking up the pieces from last season’s 4-7 disappointment. Which Samford will they see in 2025? Look at these facts. Samford’s lone returner on offense is quarterback Quincy Crittendon.
Bridlington Town Start Pre-Season Fixtures
Tuesday's game resulted in a 2-1 defeat to Beverley Town at Beverley Leisure Centre. Eager to impress on return to his home town club, Jake Day held off his man well before feeding in Trialist A on the right wing, but his one-on-one, arguably the best Bridlington chance of the first half, was smothered by Leigh Overton. A minute later, the hosts opened the scoring, as former Seasiders Cam Connelly finished well inside the penalty area to give the Beavers an early breakthrough.
Key Weekend in Bridlington Town's Relegation Battle
It’s been over a month since the Seasiders last took to the field at the Mounting Systems Stadium, when they beat fellow relegation threatened Sherwood Colliery 2-0. Since then, Mike Thompson’s side have gone unbeaten, winning 4-1 and 2-0 on the road against Heaton Stannington and Emley AFC, respectively. Most recently, Bridlington drew 2-2 against Liversedge FC. Against the run of play, Danny Earl opened the scoring for the visitors, though the Sedge equalised through captain Joe Walton.
League's Form Side Brid Bid To Beat Relegation Rivals
In the previous two away games, Mike Thompson’s side earned a 4-1 victory against Heaton Stannington, thanks to a Michael Coulson hattrick, and a 2-0 win over Emley AFC. The three points against Heaton Stannington moved the Seasiders out of the relegation zone, though they had a week without a game before the Emley trip, during which all the teams around them played and won their games in hand.
Final Month Relegation Shoot-Out For Bridlington Town
The Seasiders will be hoping to make it five wins from six games, having finally moved out of the relegation zone following a 4-1 victory over Heaton Stannington. Michael Coulson netted a hattrick, with Ahmed Salam assisting all three goals, before Coulson turned provider as his free kick was headed home by Tom Allan. After the game, head coach Mike Thompson said: “We told them pre-game, if we win, we go out of the relegation zone regardless of what happens around us.
Brid Town Bid To Swap Places With Relegation Rivals
The Seasiders have won three of their last four games, picking up victories against Ashington AFC and Pontefract Collieries, though they suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat away from home against Consett AFC. However, Bridlington picked up a crucial 2-0 victory most recently against relegation rivals Sherwood Colliery. The Seasiders capitalised on a missed penalty for the visitors, as minutes later captain Simon Heslop opened the scoring, slamming the ball home following a corner.
Crucial Game for Bridlington Town
Results looked on the up for the Seasiders, as they earned back-to-back victories, winning 3-1 and 3-2 against Ashington AFC and Pontefract Collieries, respectively. However, Bridlington fell to a disappointing 4-0 defeat on the road to Consett AFC last time out. Josh Barrett, who has been excellent playing as a striker since returning from an ACL injury, netted three times during the two victories, though he was absent for the Consett loss. Head-coach Mike Thompson said: “He’s ill.
Brid Aim For Three In A Row
The two victories have come in no small part due to the return of Josh Barrett, who scored in Seasiders’ 3-1 home victory over Ashington AFC, his first start since returning from a 3-month layoff due to an ACL injury. Dan Hartley and Sam Leverett were also on the scoresheet at the Mounting Systems Stadium. A week later, the vice captain struck twice in the first half against Pontefract Collieries, including an outstanding diving header, to send Bridlington into the interval 2-0 ahead.
Bridlington Town Look to Escape Congested Relegation Zone
It was a much needed victory last time out for Bridlington at the Mounting Systems Stadium, who went 3-0 up inside the opening half an hour against Ashington AFC. The visitors did pull one back early into the second half through Benjamin Sampson, though the Seasiders’ defence held strong as the game finished 3-1.
More Promotion Chasers To Face Brid Town
The Seasiders hosted Cleethorpes last Saturday, and fell to a 3-0 defeat to the league leaders. They then had their shortest away trip of the season midweek, travelling to East Yorkshire rivals North Ferriby, though it was no easy feat with the Villagers sitting in fourth. Despite competing in the first half, which ended goalless, former North Ferriby man Danny Earl was sent off for two bookable offenses, the second of which was for delaying the restart.
Bridlington Town Start Run of Away Games
Town will be away against local rivals North Ferriby in the Northern Premier League East. The Seasiders, who are in the middle of a busy schedule with games against difficult opponents, have picked up just one point from their last five games. They were defeated 3-0 at home against lead leaders Cleethorpes Town on Saturday, though the scoreline slightly flattered the hosts. After the game, Mike Thompson said: “They are probably the current league leaders because they’re clinical.
Brid Face Highflyers As Relegation Battle Continues
The Seasiders stopped a run of three losses on the trot when they drew 1-1 midweek against Brighouse Town. Michael Coulson scored his fourth goal in six games under new manager Mike Thompson, though five minutes later Akeel Francis netted the equaliser. After the match, Thompson said: “Being back at home we set the boys up for a win. Overall, though it feels like two points dropped. Once we took the lead, we felt like we had control.
Big Game for Bridlington at Bottom of NPL East Table
Despite climbing out of the relegation zone with two wins in Mike Thompson’s first two games, three consecutive defeats now see the Seasiders back in the drop zone, sitting 19th. Most recently, Bridlington suffered a 5-0 thrashing away from home against Newton Aycliffe, after which Thompson said: “We were beaten by the better team. “I think after 15 minutes we were happy with where we were at in the game, but it just seems a little too easy today from our point of view.
Brid Target Turnaround at Aycliffe
Mike Thompson had four home games to start his 2nd spell as manager, and picked up victories in the first two, winning 4-2 and 1-0 against Bishop Auckland and Sheffield FC, respectively. However, two defeats followed, as Garforth Town won 3-2 and most recently Grimsby Borough left with a 1-0 win on Tuesday evening: On the recent narrow defeat, Thompson said: “(I am) really disappointed with how we conceded the goal. It was an individual error that cost us the game.
Bridlington Town Bounce Back Needed in Rearranged Fixture
It’s been a good start to Mike Thompson’s second tenure as Bridlington manager, who has begun his reign with four home games. Victories came in the first two games, 4-2 and 1-0 against Bishop Auckland and Sheffield FC, respectively. However, the Seasiders did suffer a 3-2 defeat in their most recent game against Garforth Town.
Can Bridlington Town Make the Mounting Systems Stadium a Fortress?
Thompson starts his second reign as gaffer with four consecutive home games, and has certainly done well at making the Mounting Systems Stadium a tough place to visit so far. His first game in charge saw Bridlington come out 4-2 winners over Bishop Auckland, despite trailing on two occasions. Having moved out of the relegation zone, Bridlington faced bottom of the table Sheffield FC just four days later.
Brid Football Clubs Join Forces
“Our joint vision (Bridlington Town AFC and CYP) is to move football participation in the town forward by removing barriers and enabling all ages and gender to become involved in this initiative for the benefit of the community and the participants. “The implications for this vision are that the future of football in Bridlington will change positively forever.
Seasiders Do The Double Over Bishop Auckland
Like in the reverse fixture, the Seasiders had to come from behind to claim all three points. After the game, Thompson commented: "Work rate, application, buy in - I'm over the moon because they've done everything we've expected of them, and they've really, really drilled themselves into the ground for a full 90 minutes." It was a cagey opening 15 minutes, with neither side able to create any noteworthy chances.
Brid Town Face First Outing Since Thompson Return
Bridlington Town will take on Bishop Auckland at the Mounting Systems Stadium tonight, kick-starting a run of four consecutive home games for the Seasiders. The Seasiders have had an incredibly disrupted schedule recently, firstly seeing their Boxing Day clash with Grimsby Borough abandoned just after half time due to fog, with the score at 0-0. Bridlington were then set to travel to North Ferriby on New Year's Day, but the East Yorkshire derby was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
Friday Night Outing for Returning Bridlington Town Manager
It’s been a week of change for the Seasiders, as it was announced on Sunday that Denny Ingram had resigned as first team manager, though he will remain at the club in his coaching role with the Under 19s. A few hours later, Mike Thompson was revealed as the new gaffer, leaving Bottesford Town to rejoin the club that gave him his first managerial job two and a half years ago.
Brid Beaten by West Yorkshire Rivals
Bridlington were able to welcome a couple of players back from injury in Tom Allan and Simon Heslop, though the latter was an unused substitute. It was the hosts who had the first chance of the game, as Alex Peterson laid the ball off to Michael Coulson, who spun on the edge of the penalty area but dragged his shot wide.. Despite having very little of the ball, Emley took an early lead after just five minutes after a cross from the right.
Brid Town Face Yorkshire Opposition at Home
It had been an incredibly busy schedule for Bridlington, who had five weeks in a row of midweek games. Most recently, they had three home games in the space of a week, which began with a 5-2 defeat against Ossett United. They then beat Heaton Stannington 1-0, though lost the third game 2-0 against Newton Aycliffe. The fixture pile-up has led to a number of injuries for the Seasiders, including Simon Heslop, Josh Barrett, Tom Allan and Danny Earl.
Injury Woes for Bridlington Town as Busy Schedule Comes to a Close
The Seasiders have had five weeks in a row of games on Saturdays and midweek, and as such have accumulated a number of injuries, with Simon Heslop, Josh Barrett, Danny Earl and Tom Allan all sidelined and due to see physio Josh Hairsine this week. Most recently, Bridlington have had three home games in the space of seven days. They picked up a disappointing 5-2 defeat against Ossett United, who at the time were bottom of the league.
Third Home Game in a Week for Bridlington Town
It’s been a mixed week for Denny Ingram’s side, who responded to a disappointing 5-2 defeat against Ossett United by beating Heaton Stannington 1-0, with Nathan Dyer’s early strike the difference between two. Attacker and assistant manager Michael Coulson said: “It was a really good professional performance after what happened on Tuesday night.” Unfortunately, injuries for the Newton Aycliffe game are a concern for the Seasiders.
First of Three Home Games in a Week for Bridlington Town
A fantastic away performance against Sherwood Colliery on Saturday, saw the Seasiders claim all three points and a clean sheet in a 2-0 victory. Charlie Winfield opened the scoring in the first half, before skipper Simon Heslop slotted one-on-one with Jordan Pierrepont, though was immediately forced off injured after the goal. Alex Peterson was also heavily involved in both goals, flicking the ball on for Winfield before slotting in Heslop. He'll now face his former club on Tuesday evening.
Bridlington Refocus on League After Cup Exit
Bridlington Town's busy schedule continues as they take on Sherwood Colliery in the Northern Premier League East Division today. Due to the installation of a 3G pitch at Sherwood, the fixture will be played at Rainworth Miners Welfare. It was a shock result for Bridlington Town midweek, who lost 5-4 on penalties in the East Riding Senior Cup Second Round against Hull United of the Humber Premier League, three leagues below Bridlington Town.
Bridlington Town Offer Free Entry to Tonight's Cup Fixture
It’s a competition that the Seasiders have enjoyed success in during recent years, having won the competition in the previous two seasons under former manager Adrian Costello. Last campaign, it was a sweet 2-1 victory in the final over rivals North Ferriby at their ground, thanks to an outstanding late free kick from Lewis Dennison, who has since made the switch to the Villagers during the summer.
Bridlington Town Look to Put Poor Run Behind Them
The Seasiders have been unable to score in those two home games, losing 2-0 against Pontefract Collieries on Saturday, October 26 and 1-0 against Bradford Park Avenue on Tuesday, October 29. In an effort to fix the lack of goals, manager Denny Ingram has said: “We’ve got one (player) coming in this week. I agreed with a centre forward on Monday.
Brid Hope For Second Home Success
The fixtures keep coming thick and fast for Denny Ingram’s side, who faced Cleethorpes Town on Tuesday evening. Bridlington battled hard, but despite opening the scoring through Sam Kay, conceded in the 93rd minute to suffer a 3-2 loss. It was a controversial and dramatic ending to the game, as Bridlington felt the goalkeeper Sebastian Malkowski was fouled leading to the goal. Referee Ryan Coulson did not share that view, and booked Malkowski and Ingram for their protests.
Tough Seaside Derby for Bridlington Town Tonight
In their last away game, Bridlington beat Garforth Town 1-0 thanks to Michael Coulson’s first half header. They backed up the victory against Dunston at the Mounting Systems Stadium, with Sam Leverett’s penalty earning another 1-0 win. Both games panned out very similarly, with the Seasiders creating lots of chances and taking the lead in the first half, before having to be defensively resolute in the second period as the opponents piled on the pressure.
Bridlington Town Now Turn To Home Form
Bridlington go into the encounter off the back of three points on the road, as Michael Coulson’s first-half header was the difference in a 1-0 victory against Garforth Town. Manager Denny Ingram described the performance as: “Gritty, determined.” before going on to say he was: “Very pleased with a clean sheet, and three points.” It wasn’t just the gaffer who was delighted with the win, as supporter Tom Ormsby said: “Fabulous. First half was brilliant, (we) certainly deserved the first half.
Bridlington Town Look to Build on Winning Ways with Trip to Stocksbridge
Town will be hoping to build on Saturday’s 2-1 victory against Sheffield, where Danny Earl continued his excellent form since returning to the club by netting the opening goal after just eight minutes. It made it four goals in three games for Earl, which was enough to earn him the September Player of the Month award. Michael Coulson, who assisted Earl’s opener, then got on the end of Earl’s low ball into the box, sliding in to double the advantage with just over ten minutes remaining.
Bridlington Town Take To The Road
Denny Ingram will be looking for his side to bounce back from a disappointing 2-1 defeat against Consett AFC last time out. Two defensive errors gave Consett a 2-0 lead in the first half, and it wasn’t until the 90th minute when Bridlington pulled one back through Sam Leverett on his home debut. Charlie Winfield and Harvey Cribb also made their home debuts, all having joined on an initial one-month loan.
Ingram's Brid Look For First Win
It’ll be nearly three weeks since the Seasiders’ last Northern Premier League match, which came against rivals North Ferriby on Bank Holiday Monday. Unfortunately, Ferriby ran rampant and came out 3-0 winners. Ultimately, after a poor start to the season which saw Bridlington pick up just two points in five games, it signalled a change in management, with Denny Ingram stepping up as manager.
Former Scarborough Star Takes Brid Town Reigns For First Match
It comes after the departure of Adrian Costello by mutual consent, after a disappointing start to the season, including back-to-back 3-0 defeats against Belper Town and North Ferriby within the space of just three days. Costello’s assistant Ingram now steps up to manage the club, who have picked up two points from the opening five games. Ingram has appointed Michael Coulson, who has scored the club’s only goal, as player-assistant manager, with Pete Davidson taking up a player-coach role.
Bridlington Town Target First Victory
It’s a trip to Derbyshire up next for the Seasiders, as they take on Belper Town in their fourth Northern Premier League match of the season. After losing 1-0 on the opening day against Carlton Town, the Seasiders have picked up back-to-back midweek draws: 1-1 away from home against Brighouse Town and most recently a goalless encounter against Liversedge at the Mounting Systems Stadium.
Brid Back At Home For Liversedge
It comes due to the Seasiders exit from the FA Cup, losing 3-2 against Birtley Town. They then began their Northern Premier League season with a 1-0 home defeat against Carlton Town, but did pick up their first point of the season against Brighouse Town midweek. After falling behind at the end of a first half dominated by Bridlington, they managed to find the equaliser in the second half as Michael Coulson netted his first goal for the club - the game concluded 1-1.
Brid Kick Off New Season at Newly Named Home
With the excitement building with upgrades both on and off the pitch under the new ownership, it’s a match that supporters will have been looking forward to for some time. Improvement will be needed, however, from last Saturday’s game, where the Seasiders were knocked out of the FA Cup at the Extra Preliminary Round, losing 3-2 against Northern League side Birtley Town.
Brid Kick Off New Season in North East
Following the pattern from last season, when the Seasiders travelled to Bishop Auckland, Adrian Costello’s side will open the season with a trip to the north east in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round - taking on Birtley Town on this occasion. It begins a new era for the club, as Pete Smurthwaite ended his two decade tenure as chairman of the club, with this being the first competitive game without him owning the club.
Bridlington Town Relegation Battle Goes to Final Game

Town are currently third from bottom but only two points ahead of Brighouse. Brid Town in Relegation Danger After Defeat
Adrian Costello opted for experience in defence for the key game, and as such drafted in Jack Bulless as well as Alex Markham, in place of Adam Stockhill and Bobby Attree. The hosts had a few half chances in the first half, firstly when Ali Aydemir’s cross found Glen Sani in the penalty area, but he couldn’t quite get a clean connection on it to trouble goalkeeper Callum Hiddleston. A good ball in behind then played through Lewis Dennison, but his left-footed strike was well saved by Hiddleston.
Brid Town Beaten In Eight-Goal Thriller
Despite the visitors taking a 4-0 lead, the Seasiders came back to net three times, before Newton Aycliffe sealed it late on. It was Bridlington who started the game the stronger side, and should have found themselves 2-0 ahead. A goalmouth scramble saw a combination of goalkeeper James Winter, a defender and the crossbar somehow managed to keep the ball out of the net.
Weekend Fixtures For Scarborough, Whitby and Bridlington
Despite a run of poor results - Scarborough Athletic remain just 3 points outside the play off places in the National League North. Today they take on high flying, top of the table Tamworth, at home in a 3pm kick off. Boss Jono Greening is determined to make sure the season ends on a high and has this message for the supporters, that he gave Scarborough Athletic TV. Jono does have some injury concerns to consider before the game...
Brid Aiming For East Riding Cup Defence
The tie will kick off at 7:30pm at the neutral venue of Roy West Centre, home of East Riding FA. Sculcoates have had an excellent season so far, having lost just one league game against 1st placed Club Thorne. Their 43 points is just three less than the table-toppers, and therefore with 10 league games remaining, the race of the Humber Premier League title is well and truly on. That defeat came all the way back in September, losing 2-1 after trailing 1-0 at half time.
Tough Weekend of Games for Whitby, Scarborough and Bridlington
Whitby Towns fixture list continues to pile up with postponed games, but will today hope to take on high flying Hyde United, at home in a 3pm kick off. Hyde are currently 2nd in the league table, whilst Whitby are mid table in 11th. Their last game was against Northallerton Town in the Cup - securing an excellent 3-1 victory, at the beginning of the month. Meanwhile, Scarborough Athletic will look to put an end to what has been a bad run of results - with a trip Gloucester City today.
Brid Beaten By Strugglers
Bobby Attree made his debut for the club, making a late appearance off the bench. Benni Ndlovu, who looked dangerous all afternoon, produced the first clear-cut chance of the game, when his close-range strike forced James Hitchcock into a sensational, point-blank save. Will Sutton had a couple of chances as the hosts grew their way into the game. His effort inside the penalty area was easily saved by Edd Hall, before the left-back fired well over the crossbar a few minutes later.
Bridlington Town Host Sheffield
It will be 11 days since the Seasiders last played, as their trip to Pontefract Collieries was postponed on Saturday morning due to a waterlogged pitch. It was one of six postponed fixtures in the Northern Premier League, which also included Sheffield FC’s home game against Grantham Town. Bridlington Town’s most recent match saw them progress to the East Riding Senior Cup Semi-Final thanks to a 3-0 win over Hessle Sporting Club, their first win of 2024.
Bridlington Town Away Day to Cleethorpes
The Bridlington Town faithful will be hoping to return home with their first three points of 2024. After beginning the year with a 4-2 defeat against Liversedge FC, the Seasiders had consecutive home matches due to the trip to Carlton Town being postponed. Both of those games at Queensgate, against Stockton Town and more recently Grantham Town, ended in 2-2 draws.
Late Drama as Brid Refuse To be Beaten
Four goals in the final 16 minutes concluded a 2-2 draw for Bridlington Town against Grantham Town at the Hudgell Solicitor Stadium. Will Sutton came straight into the side having rejoined the club, whilst Harry Milner was given his first league start. They replaced Alex Markham and Ali Aydemir, whilst Glen Sani was also drafted into the starting lineup as Jake Brown has returned to Hull City.
