Episode 59 - Josh Brolin (Season 49)
This week on the Ten to One Podcast, we're diving deep into the latest SNL episode, which aired on March 10, 2024. The ruggedly dashing Josh Brolin graced the stage of Studio 8H for his third hosting gig amidst the swirling sands of his latest blockbuster success, Dune 2.
Episode 53 - Kate McKinnon (Season 49)
Kate McKinnon, known for her 11-year tenure on "Saturday Night Live" and her various character depictions, returned to the show, this time as a host. The Ten to One Podcast is here to review and recap the entire episode. In the episode, Kate reprised her popular role as Barbara DeDrew in the sketch "Whiskers R We," was joined by her friends Maya Rudolph and Kristen Wiig, and introduced viewers to a Tampon Farm. Additionally, the joke swap segment returned on Weekend Update.
Episode 197 - Lasagna Tastes Good in a Place Like This
Ben, Brad, and Nate are ready for Thanksgiving. In fact, Nate has been so busy cooking up turkey that he couldn't be bothered to watch his assigned movie, and instead, he watched a crappy Christmas movie on FreeVee. Meanwhile, Ben watched a lovely movie about a man and his robot, and Brad watched some sheep have fun in the city. Alex Pappas joins us again, and he's seen The Marvels! Plus, we talked about the trailers for Madame Web (FIFTY SHADES OF TIME!) and Garfield (MONDAYS, AMIRITE!?).
Episode 50 - Jason Momoa (Season 49)
This week on the Ten to One Podcast, we're getting wet with Jason Momoa (...wait...no) as he hosts the iconic show for the second time! Grab your Hawaiian shirt and join our hosts - Brad Oman from SlashFilm.com, Nate Loucks, and Ben Konowitz - as they use their wit and humor to break down each act of Momoa's latest SNL performance. Was Momoa's opening monologue a roaring success, or did it fall flat? Which live sketch had us rolling with laughter, and which ones missed the mark?
Episode 49 - Timothée Chalamet (Season 49)
In this episode of the Ten to One Podcast, hosts Ben Konowitz, Nate Loucks, and Brad Oman discuss the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, featuring Timothée Chalamet as the host. The hosts provide a comprehensive and entertaining review of the episode, analyzing the standout sketches and performances.
Episode 47 - Bad Bunny (Season 49)
Welcome to the Ten to One Podcast, where hosts Ben, Brad, and Nate dive deep into the world of Saturday Night Live. Join us as we review and rewatch the latest episodes, offering entertaining insights, critique, and commentary about the sketches, hosts, and history of SNL. In this week's episode, we take a closer look at the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live, featuring the incredibly talented Bad Bunny as both host and musical guest.
Episode 191 - Jaffas and Floppy Jelly Tips
Ben, Brad, and Nate are back after an unexpected break but trust me when I say it will be worth it. We have a very special guest all the way from New Zealand, and no, that's not a joke! Longtime listener Mitch Blyde has been touring the United States and stopped by the Midwest to be a guest on the podcast. Mitch has learned about tipping and Fahrenheit, and he truly loves the podcast; God help him. Ben finally saw Barbie, we talked about the last movies we saw, and we have an imported sponsor.
Episode 189 - The Ghost is a Goober
Ben, Brad, and Nate were pretty bad about their assignments this week. Ben dug up Winter's Bone at the last minute, Brad did not Meet Joe Black, and Nate just forgot to hop on board Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World. But Ben and Nate both got invited to Adam Sandler's daughter's Bat Mitzvah, Brad had a visit from The Pope's Exorcist, and we all hung out with the Coneheads. Plus, we check out the trailers for Flora and Son (BONO'S DAUGHTER AND JGL!) and Rebel Moon (IT'S SO LONG!).
Episode 181 - My Son Maria (feat. Finn Loucks)
Ben, Brad, and Nate are here, and this week, they all assigned each other animated movies. Nate spends some time with Wallace & Gromit, Brad meets a cute little abominable snowman, and Ben hangs ten with some cool penguins. Plus, Nate and Brad have been enjoying some movies that are broken up into 30-45 minute sections, but they're definitely not TV shows.
Episode 179 - Santa Claus: No Way Home
Ben, Brad, and Nate took a week off, but they're back and ready to get saucy! They've watched their assignments, including some Paul Giamatti greatness, Kevin Costner getting wet and wooden, and Mark Wahlberg getting reckless in Detroit as one of the Four Brothers. Plus, we sneak in some TV talk just to piss off Ben, and we've got a pretty good idea for a Santa Claus multiverse movie.
Episode 176 - Potato Sack Pants
Ben, Brad, and Nate are back together. Nate hasn't learned his lesson about trying to make this a television AND movie podcast, but Ben doesn't exactly help matters either. We've seen a lot of movies since the last time we got together, including a post-apocalyptic Tom Hanks movie, an exquisite romantic comedy, Guy Ritchie's first film, and one of us has already seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Episode 175 - Thick Ropes and Juicy Red Lips
WARNING: This episode is even more NSFW than usual due to a particularly grotesque and unsettling movie called The Greasy Strangler. So listen at your own risk! Ben and Brad are back, and Nate was smart enough to stay away from this one.
Episode 174 - We’re Not Here to Talk About Ship Sailors
It's time for another episode of Dick Grant's favorite podcast, Go Flix Yourself! In this episode, Ben, Brad, and Nate discuss the trailers for the upcoming film Talk to Me (LIGHTS OUT, DEMON HAND!), the miniseries The Continental: From the World of John Wick (GRITTY YOUNG WINSTON), and the television series Bupkis (WELCOME BACK, JOE.) They also dive into some deep conversations about the best kind of Combo snack, ol' Queso Karen.
Episode 39 - Ana de Armas (SNL Season 48)
It's a new episode of the Ten to One Podcast! We recap and review Ana de Armas' appearance on Saturday Night Live, including our favorite and least favorite sketch of the night and our MVP cast member. SNL was revisited by Matt Schatt and Lisa from Temecula and some puppies trying to make it in the acting world. Molly Kearney gives her opinions on recent anti-LGBTQ bills in the United States and Sarah Sherman gives us a new character, Guru Genesis Fry.
Episode 38 - Molly Shannon (SNL Season 48)
Former cast member Molly Shannon returns to Saturday Night Live for her second time as a host, bringing some of her former characters with her. We discussed the highs and lows of this episode and what we believed was the best sketch and the MVP of the night. In addition, Nate learns he isn't using the word 'titular' correctly, Ben talks about bombing a joke while doing standup comedy, and Brad makes some guesses at who might be the final three hosts for this season of Saturday Night Live.
Episode 172 - Thick Cans and Seamless Butters
Ben, Brad, and Not Nate are back for a podcast, and they're joined by longtime friend and guest Alex Pappas! We've watched a bunch of movies, from Creed III to The 'Burbs, and Alex brings his Dungeons & Dragons nerdity to his review of the movie, Honor Among Thieves. Was anyone betting on the conversation shifting to Insane Clown Posse? Because here we are! We also talk about the trailers for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (BRING ME SPIDER-MAN!) and Blue Beetle (BATMAN'S A FASCIST!).
Episode 37 - Quinta Brunson (SNL Season 48)
We're back with the first of another trio of new Saturday Night Live episodes to usher in spring. Quinta Brunson, the Emmy-winning star, writer, producer, and creator of Abbott Elementary, makes her hosting debut, and it's a good one! We love this tiny but hilarious queen of comedy! There are a couple of valleys among these SNL peaks, but it's mostly a home run. Plus, Weekend Update plays host to an epic April Fools Day prank between Michael Che and Colin Jost.
Episode 171 - It's a Phrase That Smells
Ben, Brad, and Nate are making up for missing a week with a slightly longer episode. But we promise it's a fun one, even if there's a little too much talk about butts, Peeps, and fruit in Jell-O. There are plenty of movies to catch up on, including a big f**kin' giant, a long-ass hike, and a damn magic trick with a little bit of John Wick.
Episode 36 - Jenna Ortega (SNL Season 48)
The Ten to One Podcast is a Saturday Night Live recap and review show. After the undeserved attack on Travis Kelce from Captain Curmudgeon Bradford Oman last week, we're back with a much happier and harmonious hosting crew to review Jenna Ortega's first time hosting Saturday Night Live. Ben comes up with an excellent name for a band (750 for Lenny Pickett), Brad talks about his foray into tweeting about the 1975's Matty Healy, and Nate wonders if his likes on Twitter are viewed as endorsements.
Episode 169 - The One Where Ben Learns He's Color Blind
Where you were in '62? Ben, Brad, and Nate weren't born yet, but they spend some time in the past with Nate's movie assignment for the week. Meanwhile, Ben disappoints us all again, and Brad is the movie champion. What does that mean? We're not sure. This is what happens when Brad writes the episode descriptions. We also discuss the trailers for Disney's Haunted Mansion (SPOOPY! NO, THAT'S NOT A TYPO!) and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (HEROES IN A HALF-SHELL!).
Episode 35 - Travis Kelce (SNL Season 48)
It's been 35 episodes of the Ten to One Podcast, and we finally had fireworks. All it took was a Super Bowl-winning tight end to stir the pot among Ben, Brad, and Nate. And, although this might be the most contentious episode of the Ten to One, we still had a lot of fun reviewing each sketch of Travis Kelce's appearance on Saturday Night Live.
Episode 34 - Woody Harrelson (SNL Season 48)
It's the 13th episode of the 48th season of Saturday Night Live. "AND WHY DIDN'T WE LIKE THIS EPISODE?" "Because it was bad." Woody Harrelson stops by Studio 8H for the fifth time. To celebrate, we got an antiquated Boaty McBoatface sketch, a hilarious Cologuard commercial, and an unfunny anti-vax monologue. We also play "Name the SNL 5-Timer." What did the Brad-o-meter read for the Weekend Update chemistry? What did NBA fan Ben think of James Austin Johnson's Bill Walton impression?
Charlie Chaplin and The Flash: Quantumania
Ben, Brad, and Nate had an unexpected week off, but they're back and like movies more than ever! This week, Brad finally caught up on all his assignments, which he never did in high school. Meanwhile, Ben misses an assignment, and Nate makes a deal with the devil. Plus, we talk about the trailers for Fast X (FAST-TEN YOUR SEATBELTS!), The Flash (I'M BATMAN!), and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (ONE LAST RIDE!).
Episode 165 - Get Your Fill of Bill and Will
Ben, Brad, and Nate are back with a bunch of new movies they've watched! Brad has been Sundancin' up a storm, but that means he neglected his assignment yet again. Thankfully, Ben and Nate did their homework, and there's plenty to talk about. We've got a trailer triple feature too, as we talk about a new peek at 65 (DINO-MITE!), We Have a Ghost (BUSTIN' MAKES ME FEEL GOOD!), and Polite Society (BIG TROUBLE, LITTLE SISTER!). And finally, Nate brought a game for all the Bills and Wills out there.
Aubrey Plaza on Saturday Night Live Review
It's time for a new episode of the Ten to One! As always, we give you an in-depth review of the latest episode of Saturday Night Live. This week, SNL was hosted by former NBC page and awkward and lovable Aubrey Plaza. Join us as we discuss the best and worst of the night's sketches, predict Jost and Che's rating on the Brad-ometer, and, for the first time, talk about the musical guest thanks to a statuesque Sharon Stone.
