Italian Clothier Eredi Pisano Celebrates 14 Years of Style in New York
The Eredi Pisano boutique on Madison Avenue was packed with brand ambassadors celebrating 14th years in New York on December 8. “I am actually not here because of the storm. I am just grocery shopping and I had an appointment near here so that’s why I came by. I kind of pick the worst day. (laughs) I didn’t think the lines would be this bad though.” “I’m not an apocalyptic shopper, but I do have a ten-year-old daughter, so I thought I would have a couple of things in the refrigerator for her.
Jump and Jive on the Vintage Line
The joint was jumping on Second Avenue station on the M train, as guys and dolls donning early- and mid-20th century fashion were transported back in time. They danced on a vintage subway car that runs on Sundays during December. Bass, trumpets, and percussion rang down the platform as ladies were twirled and swung around by their partners to the tunes of Scrub Board Serenaders and Hot Jazz Jumpers.
Hong Kong Police Given Go-Ahead to Clear Admiralty Protest Site
Hong Kong’s high court has authorized police to help carry out injunctions against the protest site in Admiralty. On Monday, Nov. 17, the Court of First Instance briefed the plaintiffs, bailiffs, and police before giving the latter two the go-ahead to execute the court order to clear the blockage of the access into CITEC Tower, Admiralty, according to a press release.

HONG KONG—By day Mrs. Li, 52, works as a purchasing manager at a Chinese shipping firm. At night, she cleans toilets. “After work I come by at about 7 p.m. and clean them. Then once again at 10 p.m. I usually leave by midnight,” she said in an interview in Admiralty, Hong Kong’s government district which for the last month has been occupied by pro-democracy protesters. “If I just got off work and went home, I’d feel very uncomfortable,” Li said.

The camp takes up the two main highways of Harcourt Road and Connaught Road—12 lanes at its widest.

HONG KONG–After pro-democracy protesters on the evening of Oct. 14 successfully shutdown Lung Wo Road, one of the major roadways in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong police came at them in a striking altercation that left some injured and in the hospital. The police beat protesters with batons, punching and kicking, and using pepper spray. Early in the morning of Oct. 16, out of anger for how the police handled handled the situation, protesters once again shut down the roadway.
