Benét J. Wilson is a lead writer, credit cards for Bankrate. She was previously senior credit cards editor for The Points Guy and associate editor of credit cards + travel at CompareCards.com and MagnifyMoney,com. She is founder and sole proprietor of Aviation Queen LLC, an aviation/travel freelance writing and consulting business. She served as the Air Travel Expert for About.com/Trip Savvy for four years. Clients include Airport Business magazine, Tnooz, USA Today, AirwaysNews.com, the Runway Girl Network, Jetrader magazine, Airports Council International-North America’s Centerlines magazine and NewsCred. She writes on topics including airlines, airports, airport security, aircraft manufacturing and the passenger experience.
Wilson has worked for various aviation trade publications, including AirwaysNews.com, AOPA Pilot magazine, The Weekly of Business Aviation, Aviation Daily, Aviation Week & Space Technology magazine and Commuter/Regional Airline News. She has been a trade journalist for nearly 30 years, and also spent five years in senior corporate communications positions at Delta Air Lines, Mesa Air Group and Rolls-Royce North America.
Wilson serves on the boards of Mercer Univeristy's Center for Collaborative Journalism and the Institute for Independent Journalists. She has served on the boards of the Online News Association and the National Association of Black Journalists.
She has created and participated in numerous workshops and webinars on digital journalism, branding, media diversity and social media. She graduated from American University in Washington, D.C., with a B.A. in broadcast journalism. She resides in Baltimore, Md.
