Cerebrovascular Accident Risk in Survivors of Head and Neck Cancer: JACC CardioOncology State-of-the-Art Review
Radiation therapy (RT) plays a vital role in treating many cancers, including head and neck cancer (HNC). As disease control and survival rates continue to improve, it has become increasingly apparent that RT carries a long-term risk of vascular injury and accelerated atherosclerosis of the coronary and carotid arteries, which may lead to myocardial infarction and cerebrovascular accident (CVA), respectively.
Impact of fragmented care on outcomes in the management of uncomplicated type B aortic dissection Presented at the 52nd Annual Symposium of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, Austin, Texas, March 29-April 2, 2025.

INTRA-OPERATIVE STAFF RADIATION EXPOSURE DURING AORTIC ENDOVASCULAR PROCEDURES.
Highlights - Radiation exposure is still significant during aortic endovascular procedure even following good practice recommendations - Staff member positioning in the operating field strongly influence the level of exposure - Main operator is not necessarily the most exposed and assistant position must be controlled. Abstract The risk of radiation exposure in the surgical operating room (OR) and/or cathlab is now well established.
Precocious Rupture Of Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms Below Size Criteria For Repair: Risk Factors And Outcomes
Practice guidelines recommend elective repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) ≥5.5 cm in men and ≥5 cm in women to prevent rupture. However, some rupture at smaller diameters. We identify risk factors for precocious rupture (rAAA) below this threshold and compare outcomes following rAAA repair above/below size criteria.
Use Of Direct Oral Anticoagulants Over Warfarin Improves Survival And Patency In Infra-geniculate Bypasses With Vein Conduit Compared To Prosthetic
There is no consensus on the optimal anticoagulant regimen following lower extremity bypass. Historically, warfarin has been utilized for prosthetic or compromised vein bypasses. With the increasing use of direct oral anticoagulants (DOAC), their efficacy is unclear and are currently utilized for both prosthetic and vein based bypasses.
Fenestrated endovascular repair with large device diameters (34- to 36-mm) is associated with type 1 and 3 endoleak and reintervention
Abstract Objectives: Patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms undergoing EVAR with larger device diameters (34- to 36-mm) have worse outcomes due to proximal fixation failure and need for reintervention. We examine outcomes relating to standard fenestrated repair (FEVAR) with larger device diameters, and investigate whether a similar relationship exists.
Renal stent complications and impact on renal function following standard fenestrated endovascular aneurysm repair
Abstract Objectives To report renal outcomes including long-term patency, secondary interventions, and related renal function following fenestrated endovascular aortic repair (fEVAR). Materials and methods Single center retrospective review of patients undergoing fEVAR between 2012-2018 using the Cook-ZFEN device. Renal stent complications, defined as any stenosis, occlusion, kink, renal stent related endoleak, and reinterventions were tabulated.
The Triple-Wire Technique for Delivery of Endovascular Components in Difficult Anatomy
Abstract We describe a novel endovascular technique in which three 0.014” guidewires are placed in parallel through a 0.035” lumen catheter, in order to create a stiff platform to allow for delivery of 0.035” profile devices through challenging anatomy.

Real-World Outcomes of EKOS Ultrasound-Enhanced Catheter-Directed Thrombolysis for Acute Limb Ischemia
Abstract Objectives Ultrasound-enhanced catheter-directed thrombolysis (UET) using the EKOS device for acute, peripheral arterial ischemia has been purported in clinical trials to accelerate the fibrinolytic process in order to reduce treatment time and lytic dosage. We aim to describe outcomes of UET in a real-world clinical setting. Methods We performed a retrospective review of all patients undergoing UET for acute limb ischemia at a single institution.

Introduction: Patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA) undergoing infrarenal EVAR with larger device diameters (34- to 36-mm) have been found to have worse outcomes due to proximal fixation failure and need for reintervention.
Robotic Surgery of Complex Iliac Aneurysms with Preservation of the Internal Iliac Arteries using Hybrid Prosthesis: Preliminary Study
To view the full text, please login as a subscribed user or purchase a subscription. Click here to view the full text on ScienceDirect. The preservation of hypogastric arteries is crucial in the treatment of iliac aneurysms. Robotic aorto-iliac surgery offers a mini-invasive alternative to treat young patients presenting complex iliac aneurysms involving the hypogastric bifurcation contra-indicating endovascular surgery.
