Benjamin Kail’s Biography

I cover federal politics and breaking news for MassLive, part of Advance Local/Advance Publications, in Boston.

For two years I covered statewide environmental and energy issues and politics, crime, business, education and features in two towns for The Day, an independent newspaper and website in New London, Connecticut.

For three years before joining The Day, I covered the city of Oswego, N.Y., for The Palladium-Times, breaking news in politics, education, energy, business and some of Oswego County's biggest criminal and civil cases. My 2017 investigative reporting on sexual harassment in housing was recognized by the Associated Press and New York Newspaper Publishers Association and ignited policy changes that make it safer for women and low-income residents to rent.

My 2016 political and crime reporting won awards from the Syracuse Press Club and the New York Newspaper Publishers Association.
