Benjamin Reeves’s Biography

Benjamin Reeves is a New York-based freelance journalist, editor, screenwriter and documentary filmmaker. He specializes in features, in-depth interviews and profiles, as well as essays and thought-leadership content. He covers a wide range of topics including finance, business, wealth, sports, economics, impact investing, philanthropy and the environment.

He has deep experience in covering ultra high net worth individuals as a contributing writer, senior editor and contributing editor at Worth magazine, where he heads business, finance and entrepreneurship coverage. He regularly speaks at Worth's series of exclusive summits and conferences and has appeared on Monocle 24 and moderated panels at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

He has also worked as contributing writer and staff writer at Columbia Business School, and as a freelance foreign correspondent for McClatchyDC based in Guatemala.

He is an active freelance journalist and has contributed to a wide range of publications including The New York Times, The Awl, TheWrap.com, The Street, Vice, Buzzfeed News, Miami Herald, USA Today, GlobalPost and Worth magazine.

In addition to his work as a print and digital journalist, he has produced and directed a series of documentary shorts about jaguar conservation in Colombia and Brazil for global conservation group Panthera. He earned an MA in Experimental Humanities from NYU, a BA in Latin and History from Knox College, and is an MFA candidate at Brooklyn College's Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema where he has focused on screenwriting, transmedia storytelling and documentary production.
