What was your first job as a journalist?

I wrote for Scholastic Kids News Press Corps for two years when I was in eighth and ninth grade.

No

How is social media changing news?

That is how breaking news gets discovered sometimes.

Who's your favorite fictional journalist?

I don't have one.

What does it mean to be a journalist?

Being able to provide a voice for the voiceless

I dont recall

How do you prefer to be pitched on stories?

You could send me a message about the idea you had and we could chat about it.

What tools and software do you use to do your job?

I use primary sources, data collection, social media, and resources to get information for my articles and reports.

Who do you wish followed you?

I hope the public follows me because I care a lot about delivering news that could impact how they think.

Why did you become a journalist?

I love telling stories and being able to provide a voice for those who can't really tell the world what may have happened.

Did you work for your high school newspaper? If so, what did you do there?

I was the editor-in-chief of my high school's newspaper and president of my school's broadcast media club.

What story are you most proud of writing or working on?

I am really proud of the articles highlighted on my portfolio page.

What advice can you offer to aspiring journalists?

I would say keep on writing and practicing the craft of getting information, interviews, and data and piecing it all together.

I enjoy all pitches I receive and chatting with the person who had the idea.

What's the worst pitch you ever got?

I value all my pitches equally.

What's your favorite drink?

Sweat Tea

When you're not at a computer, where are you most likely to be?

Enjoying life.

Aside from your own, what's your favorite publication to read?

I enjoy reading the Associated Press because they have a talented team of journalists who are really good at digging for information.

What's the most common misperception about your beat?

I think journalism in general is facts first
