Furious North Korea Threatens "Final Doom" After US Deploys Strategic Bombers
Another day, another jawboning escalation out of North Korea, which on Tuesday accused the US of pushing the Korean peninsula "to the brink of nuclear war" after two strategic U.S. bombers flew training drills with the South Korean and Japanese air forces in another show of strength. As Reuters reports, the two supersonic B-1B Lancer bombers were deployed amid rising tensions over North Korea's pursuit of its nuclear and missile programs.
Five Arrested After Shooting At D.C. Police Officers
The shootings continue. According to AP, Police arrested five people for allegedly shooting at officers in Washington, D.C., early Tuesday before barricading themselves inside a vehicle. No injuries were reported. The good news is that the group allegedly fired at police to avoid arrest, not as part of a targeted attack on cops, a police official told The Washington Post. Police engage in shootout with armed subjects in SE DC. No injuries.

As previously reported, over the weekend the FBI interviewed former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, one of the final steps in the ongoing criminal investigation into alleged mishandling of classified information. While it is unclear if related to that interview or not, in just over one hour, at 11 am Eastern time, FBI Director James Comey will make a statement from headquarters in Washington D.C. He will also take questions from reporters. Stay tuned.
Driver Of Self-Driving Tesla Was Watching Harry Potter At Moment Of Death
In what turned out to be a case of morbid irony, last night we reported that Josh Brown, the 40 year old (non) driver of the Tesla which fatally crashed into a truck on May 7 in Florida while in self-driving mode when the car's cameras failed to distinguish the white side of a turning tractor-trailer from a brightly lit sky and didn't automatically activate its brakes, had as recently as a month earlier praised his "Tessy's" autopilot feature in a YouTube clip.
Caught On Tape: US Destroyer Comes 'Dangerously Close' To Russian Patrol Boat In The Med
Another day, another report of a US encounter with Russia - it is certainly becoming a routine event. In a statement made on Tuesday, the USS Gravely approached the Yaroslav Mudry, a Russian frigate, on June 17, passing at a distance of 55 meters (180ft), the Defense Ministry said in a statement. The US guided-missile destroyer Gravely breached international safety rules by coming withing dangerous proximity of the Yaroslav Mudry in the eastern Mediterranean, the Russian Defense Ministry said.

7th circuit judge Posner "no value” in studying the U.S. Constitution http://m.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/jun/27/richard-posner-no-value-in... Seventh Circuit Judge Richard Posner sees “absolutely no value” in studying the U.S. Constitution because “eighteenth-century guys” couldn’t have possibly foreseen the culture and technology of today.
The Fed's Rate Hike Plans Are Now "In Tatters" - What Wall Street Thinks
Any “faint prospect” of a Fed July rate increase has entirely vanished, ING economist Rob Carnell wrote in note adding that the longstanding ING call for Sept. hike looks to be “hanging in tatters.” Here are more comments, courtesy of Bloomberg, from Wall Steet's so-called experts, none of whom predicted the actual a Brexit outcome, about U.S. monetary policy outlook following the outcome of the U.K. referendum. BofAML (Ethan Harris, others) Next Fed hike now seen in Dec., not Sept.
"See EU Later" - On The Front Covers Of UK Newspapers Today
Two days ago, when Britain was set to vote for Brexit, we showed the front pages of the local newspapers which fell into two broad camps and could be summarized as follows: "Project Hope" and "Project Fear." Project Hope won. And just as we did then, here is a snapshot of the newspaper and tabloid covers the local population will see on its European Independence day.

The Brexit Debate Is So Out Of Hand Because Nobody Understands What It's Really About
Submitted by Raul Ilargi Meijer via The Automatic Earth blog, The reason the Brexit debate has gotten so out of hand is nobody understands what it’s about. The Brexit campaigns have started anew in the UK, and from what I’ve seen here from left field barely a thing has changed since the murder of MP Jo Cox. Neither side has any qualms about using her death to make their respective points. The main, and perhaps only real, point is that nobody understands what the vote is about.

Gold Surges After Very Poor Jobs Number, Growing Risk Of BREXIT
Gold prices surged nearly 3% after the very poor jobs number on Friday, have maintained those gains and appear to be consolidating as concerns about the U.S. economy and BREXIT deepen. Gold Prices in USD – 1 Week (GoldCore) Gold was marginally higher yesterday and 2.7% higher last week breaking a run of recent weekly losses and a 5% loss in May. BREXIT concerns are gaining momentum after three recent polls suggested that the ‘leave’ side are gaining an advantage and a BREXIT looks more likely.
Don't Expect Much From Yellen's Speech Today
When previewing today's Janet Yellen speech, we first focus on BofA's chief economist Ethan Harris who looks not so much at today's event as at recent appearances by Yellen and various Fed governors and president, and is clearly getting more disenchanted by the Fed's ongoing flip-flopping, because as he says "it is fair to say that many clients are a bit confused and frustrated with Fed communication."He continues: The Fed seems to be constantly changing its focus from one meeting to the next.
