Seeking A Headquarters Location? Questions To Consider
By Beth A. Bowman, IOM, CCE Site selection decisions, especially corporate headquarters, require long-term planning and deep collaboration among all parties. As an economic development professional, it’s been my experience that executives and site selectors are most interested in a location that will help them to conduct business in a business-friendly environment while providing a place for their workforce to thrive.
In Today’s Office Space, Flexibility Is the Name of the Game
When it comes to office space, the idea of flexibility is a growing trend that is being adopted by companies of all sizes, from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies. Years ago in my grandfather's basement I found some shoe boxes brimming with black and white photos. His brothers, hair slick and cigarettes lit, standing next to a Ford sedan, doing their damnedest to look like they were up to no good. Or caught mid-laugh, leather soles sliding in a rare East Tennessee snowfall, hands full of the stuff, arms cocked and ready to throw at the camera.
Paperbacks and Pickup Campers
Zach Bowman is selling everything he owns, hitching a camper to his high-mileage 2003 Dodge Ram and taking his family on the road. His clan is three, counting wife, Beth, and their infant daughter. They’ll be touring America, working and discovering, and sending The Drive periodic dispatches from the road. Here, prep work for the Bowman’s journey takes a turn for the tough. We sold our books. The tattered paperbacks and solemn hardcovers.
