She is survived by son James Lucas (Jimbo), Brad Crank, step son John Lucas of Durham, granddaughters Lisa Lucas Thompson, Jamie Lucas, Kelly James Dubie, Laurie James Riley, Terry James Kempa, Sissy James, Sandy and Carolyn Crank, grandsons Steve James, David James, Harrison Lucas of Florida. Betty operated a family care home on 4510 Orange Grove Road for elderly women with disabilities and woman with mental issues. She was an advocate for women with mental impairments.
