Bianca Otero’s Biography
Bianca is the Primary United Nations Correspondent for ZUMA Press and an accomplished freelance photographer and journalist. Her assignments have spanned West, Central and Eastern Europe, East Asia, North and South America and East Africa working with both editorial and corporate clients. Equally at ease in the studio or on location, she adapts her approach to suit the environment and subject.
A proponent of slow-dive journalism, she values depth and nuance over speed, seeking to uncover the complexities at the heart of each story. Her photography combines a keen storytelling instinct with a quiet observational style, producing striking, unposed images that reflect genuine rapport with her subjects and an ability to work discreetly in the background.
Bianca’s work is guided by integrity rather than self-promotion or the race to be first. She delivers unbiased, direct, and non-sensationalised reporting that enables audiences to form their own conclusions. Preferring quality over quantity, she focuses on work that informs without inflaming, offering clarity and reassurance. She regards journalism as both an educational tool and a duty, balancing objectivity with compassion to help audiences navigate complex times towards grounded, thoughtful decision-making.
