INDIA Jan Suraaj Party founder Prashant Kishor has scored a resounding victory in the Bankipur Assembly by-election in Bihar, defeating BJP's Neeraj Kumar Sinha by a margin of nearly 18,953 votes, as per the final trends on Monday, August 3. With Kishor's win now confirmed, his election affidavit, filed ahead of the polls, has resurfaced online, in which he and his wife, Dr. Jahnavi Das, had declared a combined net worth of nearly INR 198 crore.
Patna: Despite a fiercely-contested battle, the Bihar by-elections results failed to indicate any decisive swing as both the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan and BJP-led NDA retained their respective seats. All winning candidates were relatives of the sitting representatives whose sudden demise necessitated the by-polls. However, the Mahagathbandan can still claim a moral victory as Nitish Kumar’s return to the NDA fold seems to have failed to get winning votes.
