Trump: Doom and gloom news is grossly unfair
President Trump defends our flag, police, service people and Christian way of life. He keeps our jobs from disappearing overseas or lost to illegal immigrants. He creates jobs to make us prosperous. He keeps foreign countries from cheating us. About everything he does benefits us citizens. We haven’t received any bathroom rules or had to watch our military deteriorate. People are doing well. Yet over 90 percent of press coverage is doom and gloom against him. Why?
Democrats: They, not Trump, are trampling on Constitution
A Democrat said to me, “We have to get rid of Trump before he destroys the Constitution.” I couldn’t speak. I should’ve asked what clause. Our First Amendment right of free speech? No, the Democrats have already destroyed that with campus riots, shouting people out of restaurants, and people in black hoods beating us up. Our Second Amendment right to bear arms? We’re one of the top countries in gun violence, but subtract five Democrat-run cities and we’re near the bottom.
Presidents: Trump is less dictator-like than Obama
It has been said more than once that “Trump is a wanna-be dictator.” Now what would a president do if he wanted to be a dictator? Would he: Hold interviews to pick the best people for his cabinet, then argue with them over policy, negotiate his positions, donate his pay? I think not. That’s President Trump. Or would he: * Create new positions called czars higher than the cabinet and fill them with poorly qualified cronies.
Foreign policy: U.S. troops stuck in quagmire
Our government sends troops to Afghanistan and Syria and tells them: “Kill the bad people and befriend the families of the same people. We don’t know where we want to end up, just do it.” The Muslim tribes constantly fight. They don’t vote and will commit suicide just to kill someone. Anyone can be killed, as four Americans in a Syrian restaurant found out in January. Advisers use that mindless slaughter to oppose President Trump and prolong our troop presence.
Border: Innocent kids aren’t only crossers
Look south to Mexico. It’s a failed country. State boundaries mean nothing. It’s divided into areas run by drug lords. The cartels own many of the police. They hang mutilated corpses from overpasses and hijack citizens to rape and slaughter for fun. The drug lords would love to extend their territories into the U.S. Yet Democrats want an open border, apparently thinking only innocent children wander across. With no border, the corruption would ooze into our country like pus from an infected boil.
Caravan: Dehumanizing migrants is despicable
Recently I heard our president refer to alleged gang members in the so-called immigrant “caravan” as “animals.” Women, children and men are fleeing a country full of violence and poverty, wanting better lives for themselves. Surely there are people in this group who have engaged in criminal acts. Any large group will have a certain percentage of this in it. But to call them “animals” is despicable.
LNG plant: Web of complex issues to untangle
“New criticism raised about LNG plant project,” (TNT, 10/27). TNT reporter Debbie Cockrell’s excellent article explained many issues related to Puget Sound Energy’s proposed liquefied natural gas plant. I also saw the outline of an “issue ecosystem” around the LNG debate. Environmental risk/benefit is the defining issue, but perhaps more important are questions about uses of the Port and Tideflats. What’s required to be a maritime leader in the years ahead?
Trump opposition: Why blindly follow the elites?
People elected Donald Trump, like Andrew Jackson, to restore America’s democracy and strength, taking it away from an inept elite. I can understand Clinton, Obama, and the D.C. politicians hating him, but I don’t understand why some citizens and college students blindly follow. Their hatred of Trump is based upon loss of power, offers nothing but knee-jerk resistance and tells us deplorable, tax-paying, law-abiding citizens we don’t count.
Russia: Runaway probe has 4 possible outcomes
I grow weary of power-mad special counsel Robert Mueller and his merry crew of Trump haters working to off the president we elected. Next, they’ll get rid of the election process and re-install Obama. At this rate, we’ll be hearing “Russia, Russia, Russia,” until: 1. We go to war with Russia; 2. The Democrats regain power; 3. They impeach Trump; or 4. All of the above.
Trump: Blind hatred for him isn't virtuous | The News Tribune
Many of us disliked President Obama’s policies, but the polls showed we liked the man. With President Trump, we never reach his policies. Instead, it’s cries of impeachment, collusion and unfitness. His policies didn’t create this. It’s been an incessant personal attack since before his election. So I looked up what our historical great thinkers said: Booker T.
Trump: His opponents wallow in hatemongering | The News Tribune
I didn’t vote for President Obama, but after his election, I hoped he’d succeed big. He disappointed me with his health care, immigration and bathroom policies, and appointees. Before the last election, Democrats laughed at Donald Trump and publicly humiliated him. Hillary Clinton ran a “Hate Trump” campaign, no change to Obama policies. The newspapers and TV continue it with racist claims, Russia is coming, impeachment demands, Trump’s bloody head as entertainment, etc.
OF NUCLEAR INTEREST: How close we came to having three Pilgrim nukes in Plymouth
It was only in 1980 that Pilgrim dropped the moniker “Pilgrim 1.” These days it is obvious when we speak of the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Plant that we mean that giant cube down on the Manomet waterfront. But it was only in 1980 that Pilgrim dropped the moniker “Pilgrim 1,” because before that date there was lurking on the drawing boards a Pilgrim 2 and a Pilgrim 3. These additional units were to be built alongside Pilgrim 1.
How much could Michelle Murphy collect in lawsuit for wrongful conviction? - Tulsa World: Capitol Report
Rebecca Brown, director of state policy for the Innocence Project in New York, said Oklahoma is one of 30 states that have a law compensating the wrongfully convicted. While some states allow payment for each year the person spent in prison, Oklahoma is among those that have a flat amount: up to $175,000. “Another troubling provision in the Oklahoma law is that anyone who pled guilty to a crime will be barred from getting compensation. ...
