Commentary: On Ukraine and national security, Congressman Good falls short
John F. Maxwell enlisted in early 1942, soon after Pearl Harbor. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps in North Africa, Sicily, Italy and Germany. My father lived to return home, to start his life as a member of that “Greatest Generation.” But lest we forget, many of his generation did not return. They lie in hallowed graves all across Europe.
Commentary: GOP House races expose the risks of far-right primary campaigns
Can a Republican primary campaign that is so ideologically extreme navigate back to the electable middle in time for the fall election? Two Virginia congressional races are testing the proposition and either could ultimately determine the balance of national power and profoundly shape U.S. policy for many years. One is the confusing and bitter nomination fight in the rural, strongly conservative 5th Congressional District that exposes deep fissures in the GOP.
It's time to save persecuted Christian Armenians in Azerbaijan
The time to save the persecuted Christian Armenians is now. The recent release of USCIRF's annual report once again highlights the most severe violators of this fundamental human right. We especially applaud the Commission's bold stance in recommending that Azerbaijan be designated as a Country of Particular Concern (CPC) by the United States. Religious freedom is an indispensable right for all individuals, regardless of their faith or location.
Dan Casey: Why are central and western Virginia congressmen so soft on Ukraine?
There’s a popular saying about the war in Ukraine that goes something like this: “If the Russians stop fighting, the war ends. If the Ukrainians stop fighting, Ukraine ends.” More than anything else, that simple aphorism highlights the nature of the most damaging conflict in Europe since World War II: Unprovoked military aggression by the authoritarian Russian Federation against a European democracy.

Brian Kilmeade blasts McCarthy GOP opposers for putting 'ego' over country
Fox News host Brian Kilmeade slammed the Republican holdouts that oppose party leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) for next speaker of the House for putting their "ego" over the best interests of the party and country. Kilmeade said conservative lawmakers such as Reps. Andy Biggs (R-AZ), Matt Gaetz (R-FL), and Bob Good (R-VA) have endangered Tuesday's speaker vote for the sake of notoriety and are therefore embarrassing themselves in front of the country.
REP. BOB GOOD: Weak And Compromised Republicans Have Unleashed A Spending Monstrosity
In their final hours as a narrow majority in a lame duck Congress, Democrats are desperately seizing the opportunity to use an earmark-filled 4,100-page “omnibus” spending bill to implement more of their radical leftist agenda using taxpayer dollars. And, unfortunately, swamp-sustaining Senate Republicans have done nothing but enable this last-ditch effort to pass policies that are antithetical to everything conservatives stand for.
Speak out against Biden's government of incompetent bullies
The Left’s attempt with its allies in government and the media to silence those who disagree with President Joe Biden is dangerous.
Virginia Senate candidate whose daughter was killed on live TV won’t be on ballot
A prominent gun control advocate in Virginia whose daughter was fatally shot on live TV failed to receive enough signatures to qualify for his district's congressional primary. The absence of Andy Parker, a Democrat running for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District, clears the path for Josh Throneburg to reach the general election, as he is the only Democratic candidate who made it onto the primary ballot.
The real radicals
Conservatives like me are often called "radical" by our critics for being unapologetic about our faith, for standing strong for traditional values, and for demanding that our government uphold our Constitutional rights. I will acknowledge that I am unequivocal in my criticism of the failed Biden Administration, the woke agenda of the Democratic Party, and even some in the Republican party in Washington who refuse to truly fight for the values they claim to hold.
Visiting America’s Southern Border
(Editor’s note: Bob Good serves in the U.S. House of Representatives for Virginia’s 5th Congressional District. Good is a member of the House Education and Labor Committee and the House Budget Committee.) I have often stated that the greatest responsibility of government is the safety and security of its citizens. The federal government is responsible for protecting us from attack or invasion by foreign adversaries, as declared in Article 4, Section 4, of the U.S. Constitution.
The fight against critical race theory is a fight for civil rights
The continual politicization of America’s education system is dangerous for our children, our nation’s future, and the principles upon which our country was founded. One of the latest and more severe examples of this effort is the teaching of critical race theory. This “woke” curriculum, under any name by which it is presented, is indoctrination and a complete fallacy.

OP-ED: Fighting to reign in costly regulations
OP-ED: Fighting to reign in costly regulations Federal regulations and excessive spending have an enormous cost on American taxpayers, families and small businesses. This week, I kicked off a series of bills targeting government waste. The first of these, the Article 1 Regulatory Budget Act, would require a budget detailing the costs of regulations similar to that of the annual budget for taxes and government spending.
Young Charlie Forster 'goes a-hunting'
When Charlie and I both wore the clothes of younger men, I owned a successful organization that provided hunting and fishing opportunities for folks in several states in addition to packaging trips to exotic locations worldwide in the same pursuit. In the search to provide our clients with additional benefits, I decided we should offer severely discounted outdoor gear from firearms to fly rods. I needed a manager and ran an employment ad in the Post.
