Anti-Israel Nutjobs Burn Flags, Wave Support For Hamas In DC In Response To Netanyahu's Address
Anti-Israel agitators flooded the nation’s capital on Wednesday in response to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's address to Congress. The demonstrations thus far include burning American flags, accusing Netanyahu of being a "war criminal," and marching with what appears to be the flag of the terrorist group Hamas. Fox News estimates that a few hundred protesters had gathered on Pennsylvania Avenue and 3rd Street, outside the Gallery of Art.
Bobby Carpenter: Michigan Extends Harbaugh -- It's Time For OSU To Pay Ryan Day
Videos by OutKick Jim Harbaugh finally signed his extension, locking him up as the head football coach of the Michigan Wolverines through 2026. The new deal comes with a considerable pay raise. The University of Michigan and head coach Jim Harbaugh have agreed to a contract extension.
Bobby Carpenter: A Sad Day In Cincinnati
Videos by OutKick “It was supposed to be ‘house money.’” “They are ahead of schedule.” “Wait until they get an offensive line and actually protect Burrow.” These are the statements that nearly every Bengals fan has used ever since their team’s magical playoff run began with a victory over the Raiders. The fanbase has oscillated between disappointment and apathy for decades, so they adopted a defense mechanism to prevent them from getting their hopes up this year.
Super Bowl: Big Impact For The Big Ten
Videos by OutKick The most watched football game of the year will be played at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday night. Calling the Super Bowl a global event isn’t hyperbole. Hundreds of millions of people in the country, and millions more around the world, will be watching. Since college football is the main pipeline for the NFL, how well represented will the Big Ten be at this year’s game? There will be 21 former Big Ten players on the 53-man rosters, come Sunday night.
Bobby Carpenter: Anarchy In Ann Arbor
Videos by OutKick For a Michigan fan, the past week must have seemed like bad dream. Fresh off their most successful season in 20 years, chaos was brewing for the Wolverines. First, the most dominant Wolverine defense in recent memory lost its architect. Defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald announced he was returning to the NFL after his first and only season at the helm.
Bobby Carpenter: No Way Out... The Jim Harbaugh Story
Videos by OutKick It’s been seven years since Jim Harbaugh left the San Francisco 49ers and returned to his alma mater, the University of Michigan, with the expectation that he would restore it to its former glory. After former head coach Lloyd Carr road off slowly into the sunset with his stars Mike Hart and Chad Henne in 2007, the Wolverines staggered through seven years of mediocrity.
Bobby Carpenter: Championship Sunday A Big Day for Buckeyes
Videos by OutKick The NFL has put together six remarkable playoff games, and it’s been quite a long time since there has been a run that impressive. Every single game has come down to the final possession, including two overtime contests. The games have had it all: Elite quarterbacks… Huge second half comebacks… and massive defensive plays. And some notable Ohio State Buckeyes were at the heart of many of those plays.
Bobby Carpenter: Big Ten Finally Has Some Big Ideas
Videos by OutKick It seems like it’s been over a decade since an idea this sound has emerged from the Big Ten Conference. Eliminate divisions. And… Play eight conference games. While the SEC found a way to play through the 2020 COVID season, the Big Ten was paralyzed by fear. They delayed their season, while the ACC, SEC and Big XII played on, a poor look that hurt the national perception of one of the premier conferences in the country.
Bobby Carpenter: The NFL And NCAA Both Have Overtime Issues
Videos by OutKick While baseball might be considered America’s pastime, football has been America’s present and future for the last 30 years or so. Ratings for the NFL were through the roof this season, grabbing 91 of the top 100 telecasts for 2021. The ratings for the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs should be even better since all four games went down to the wire. How can the most popular sport in the United States have the worst overtime rules in all of sport?
Bobby Carpenter: Jim Harbaugh -- Should He Stay Or Should He Go Now?
Videos by OutKick The Michigan Wolverines just completed their most successful season in recent memory. Many students at the University of Michigan weren’t old enough to remember the last time the Wolverines were the champions of the west, some were in middle school the last time they beat Ohio State, and since its inception in 2014, the College Football Playoff has seemed like a pipe dream. Jim Harbaugh conquered all those mountains in 2021.
Bobby Carpenter: Ryan Day Putting Finishing Touches On Buckeyes Defensive Staff
Videos by OutKick After a subpar defensive season and failing to beat Michigan, win the Big Ten, or make the CFP, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day knew that he had to make some changes. He had done some shuffling during the season, adjusting the duties and roles of defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs and defensive backs coach Matt Barnes. But by season’s end, it was evident that those moves weren’t a long-term solution. Here are the coaches changes.
Bobby Carpenter: The College Championship Conundrum
Videos by OutKick The 2021 college football season was fantastic. It had all the all the elements of intrigue to keep fans captivated from Saturday to Saturday — and every game in between. Fans returned to the stands after an abbreviated and disjointed COVID season which had no non-conference games, quarantines galore, and teams completely opting out of bowl games to give their players some much needed rest and reprieve.
Bobby Carpenter's National Championship Game Preview
Videos by OutKick Rematches are rare in college football, but the national championship game Monday night in Indianapolis will be a rerun of the SEC Championship Game. Though Bama was a substantial underdog in the first matchup in Atlanta, they won decisively, 41-24. The Bulldogs were able to surge to a 10-0 lead early in the 2nd quarter, but after that, it was all Crimson Tide. Georgia is a field goal favorite and the more talented team this time around.
Bobby Carpenter: More Changes Coming To The Ohio State Staff
Videos by OutKick It’s been three years since Ryan Day took over the helm from Urban Meyer. Back then, Day was a first time head coach who hadn’t been in the college game for several years, let alone run a blue blood college football program. When Day took the program from Urban in 2019, the bones of the program were already set in place. Urban Meyer did a fantastic job of building out the support staff.
A Rose Bowl For The Ages
Videos by OutKick Rarely in life is there an opportunity to change public perception with a lasting memory. In sports, it’s even more difficult, especially when the last opportunity came against a chief rival, on a national stage, and in the regular season finale. Enter the Utah Utes and the Rose Bowl stage. Utah has made a living pounding the football all season long on the way to a Pac-12 title.
Our Bobby Carpenter Breaks Down Georgia-Michigan
Videos by OutKick Many experts thought there would be a Big Ten team represented in the College Football Playoff, prior to the season few thought it would be Michigan. This was supposed to be the year the Georgia Bulldogs and Kirby Smart were able to slay their demons and bring home their first National Title in over 40 years. It was all coming into focus until the SEC Championship, where Bama shattered their dream season.
Bobby Carpenter: Do Bowl Games Still Matter?
Videos by OutKick The Big Ten has 9 teams playing in bowl games and from Minnesota taking on West Virginia in on December 28 to Ohio State playing Utah on January 1. While every game provides opportunities for the star players to “opt out” if they are keeping score the games still count. Matt Corral on playing in the Sugar Bowl even though it’s a “meaningless game” "I wouldn't be in this position w/o them. I won't just leave.
A Big Day For The Big Ten
Videos by OutKick It’s bowl season. It’s portal season. It’s hiring and firing season. In the midst of all of this, it’s also the early signing period, which this year, falls between Wednesday, December 15th and Friday, December 17th. The early signing period was initially created for the select recruits who had been committed to their school for months.
Big Ten Wins Big In College Football Awards, But Former Wolverine Makes Things Awkward
Videos by OutKick The college football regular season officially concluded this Saturday with the completion of the annual Army v Navy Game. With the 2021 season in the books, it was time to hand out the post-season awards and that means the annual award shows. Thursday night took care of the lion’s share of the trophies with the Heisman sitting alone on Saturday evening. The Big Ten was well represented at both events with several players from three different schools bringing home some hardware.
A Look Inside The Mind Of New Ohio State Defensive Coordinator Jim Knowles
Videos by OutKick The 2021 season for the Ohio State Buckeyes wasn’t the memorable one that many had hoped it would be. Head coach Ryan Day lost his first regular season game and his first conference game and failed to make the Big Ten Championship for the first time in his three year tenure. Their first loss came to a mediocre Oregon team at home, but that conference loss was a brutal 42-27 defeat in Ann Arbor, the Buckeyes’ first loss to the Wolverines in a decade.
The Big Ten Championship Recap
Videos by OutKick It’s taken 14 weeks to get here, but a Big Ten Champion has finally been crowned. For the first time since 2004 and their first outright title since 2003, the Michigan Wolverines were able to hoist the trophy high on Saturday night in Indianapolis. This was a Michigan team that wasn’t even ranked in the AP top 25 to start the season and that wasn’t expected to win the East Division, let alone secure a berth in the College Football Playoff.
Bobby Carpenter Looks At Big Ten Championship Saturday
Videos by OutKick No Ohio State. No Michigan State. No Penn State, Wisconsin, or even Northwestern. Even Nebraska has made it to Indianapolis during the first 10 years of the Big Ten Championship Game. In year 11, the Michigan Wolverines finally make their inaugural appearance as they face West Division Champ, Iowa. Iowa hasn’t appeared in the game since 2015 when they lost a low scoring slugfest to the eventual champ, Michigan State.
Carpenter: An Autopsy Of Ohio State
Videos by OutKick The Ohio State Buckeyes rarely lose games. Saturday was Ryan Day’s first conference loss and only his 4th loss overall as a head coach. So, when on the rare occasion that a loss happens, it’s time to take a deeper dive to understand how it happened, why it happened and whether it was preventable. When you have the talent level of Ohio State, most problems can be corrected. However, to fix something, you must first admit there is a problem, and the Buckeyes have some problems.
Big Ten Recap: Week 13… Upset Saturday
Videos by OutKick During Rivalry Week, anything can happen… and on Saturday just about anything did. In the three biggest games in the Big Ten, underdogs were able to pull out a victory. The biggest upset came on a national stage as Michigan upset Ohio State in Ann Arbor. The Buckeyes were a touchdown favorite at kickoff but were thoroughly handled by a physical Wolverine front soon afterwards. Even more surprising was Minnesota upsetting Wisconsin.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 13… Rivalry Week
Videos by OutKick It’s Rivalry Week across college football and that means it’s time for the Big Ten trophy games. Not every rivalry has a trophy and not every trophy game is played in the final week of the season, but some of the best will be played this Saturday.
Big Ten Week 12 Recap: OSU Dominates
Videos by OutKick The eyes of the nation were focused on the Big Ten this weekend. At noon eastern, the No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes welcomed the No. 7 Michigan State Spartans into the Horseshoe for the only matchup of Top 10 teams in the nation. With two weeks remaining in the regular season, both teams needed to win to control their post-season destiny. However, despite the gravity of the game, they weren’t the only teams that needed to win to keep their conference championship hopes alive.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 12
Videos by OutKick The last few weeks of November are action packed for the Big Ten. With Rivalry Week on the horizon, Week 12 still provides some big games and must-win situations for teams in contention. The East Division race is still wide open with No. 6 Michigan, No. 7 Michigan State, and No. 4 Ohio State all still alive and eager for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Week 11 Recap: The Favorites Hold Serve
Videos by OutKick The fall weather finally blew in this weekend, and with it comes the home stretch of the college football season. The Big Ten divisional races are finally coming into focus, and this week helped clarify the situation. With victories on Saturday, No. 4 Ohio State, No. 6 Michigan, and No. 7 Michigan State were all able to keep their post-season dreams alive. At the start of the season, it was assumed that Michigan would have the featured game of Week 11.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 11
Videos by OutKick It’s the homestretch of the college football season. This is the time when conference championships and preseason goals begin to come into focus. With only three Saturdays remaining in the 2021 regular season, the division races are heating up and so are the matchups. Top 10 ranked Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State are all alive in the East race and will be playing each other as well as Penn State over the next few weeks.
Big Ten Week 10 Recap: Rise and Fall of Sparty
Videos by OutKick It was another wild week for the Big Ten. Everything pointed toward a November to remember. Top 10 matchups between East Division foes would wrap up the last few weeks of the season. All Michigan State, Ohio State and Michigan had to do was take care of business for a few weeks. Handling success is often tougher than handling adversity, as Michigan State discovered on Saturday.
Big Ten Big Game and Best Bets: Week 9
Videos by OutKick The first round of College Football Playoff rankings are finally in, and the Big Ten has positioned itself incredibly well for the November stretch run. Michigan State leads the way at No. 3, followed by No. 5 Ohio State and No. 7 Michigan rounding out the top tier of the conference, so it will be difficult for an undefeated or one-loss Big Ten Champ to be left out of the dance.
Big Ten Week 9 Recap: Spartans King of the Hill
Videos by OutKick It was the Big Ten’s biggest weekend of games, and the top 2 conference matchups did not disappoint. The Battle for Paul Bunyan was a riveting emotional roller coaster, and Penn State looked more like the team that beat Auburn than the team that wilted against Illinois. It was a great showing for a conference that needed to confirm to the country that it has more than just one horse this season.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 8
Videos by OutKick It’s finally here, the weekend the Big Ten has been waiting for. The No. 6 Michigan Wolverines travels to East Lansing to take on the No. 8 Michigan State Spartans, and the No. 20 Penn State Nittany Lions travel to Columbus to square off with No. 5 Ohio State Buckeyes. It’s two top 25 matchups that should garner national attention. The problem is Penn State fell out of the Top 10 after a 9-overtime loss to Illinois AT HOME last week.
Big Ten Week 8 Recap: Penn State’s Struggles
Videos by OutKick Saturday is the exact reason why the Big Ten can’t have nice things. Just as the conference was beginning to establish itself as the premier league of 2021, Penn State and Purdue fall to inferior opponents. The loss was especially disappointing for Penn State. They were slated to square off in a Top 10 matchup against Ohio State in Columbus on October 30th, but now that game has much of its luster.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 8
Videos by OutKick The bye week is over for the big dogs in the Big Ten East. Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State are all playing their first games in two weeks, and in Penn State’s case, the bye came at just in time. Michigan State is off this weekend after an ugly win against Indiana, but all 4 of those teams remain firmly planted in the AP top 10. It will be another week before the Big Ten East gauntlet begins, but there are important games to be played in the Midwest this week.
Big Ten Week 7 Recap: Hawkeye Down
Videos by OutKick It was only a matter of time before someone exposed Iowa’s defensive deficiencies. The most surprising part of the Hawkeyes loss is that it came at home…against Purdue. With the loss, the Hawkeyes fall to 11th in the country and the Big Ten can no longer boast five teams ranked in the AP Top 10. The Big Ten was the only conference to share that honor with the SEC, even if the abbreviated run lasted only a week.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 7, The Big Off Week
Videos by OutKick It’s the midway point of the 2021 season for the Big Ten, and apparently that is a good time for many of the schools to take their schedule bye week. No. 6 Ohio State, No. 7 Michigan, and No. 8 Penn State are all off this Saturday, and how they handle this weekend will be critical for the difficult six-week march to finish the season. Ohio State and Michigan have been rolling. Does the week off kill their momentum?
Big Ten Week 6 Recap: Big Weekend for the Big Ten
Videos by OutKick Entering the 2021 season, all the talk surrounding college football was related to anything but on-field performance. From the transfer portal to College Football Playoff expansion, everyone had an opinion about how something was going to change or potentially ruin the game forever. After last Saturday, it is apparent that the college football game is absolutely alive and well.
Big Ten Big Games and Best Bets: Week 6
Videos by OutKick The Big Ten East is loaded for the first time in years, and this weekend, the top teams have some great matchups. On Saturday, the eyes of the nation will be focused on Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City when 4thranked Penn State travels west to take on the 3rd ranked Hawkeyes in an AP top 5 matchup. A win would be huge for both teams, but does one team need it more? In another cross-division contest, 9th ranked Michigan heads west to Nebraska.
Big Ten Week 5 Recap… With A Side Of Cincinnati
Videos by OutKick For the first time in what seems like forever, the Big Ten has elite depth at the top of the conference, and five Big Ten teams are now currently ranked in the top 11 of the AP Poll. Iowa leads the way at No. 3. All but one (Ohio State) are undefeated and all but one (Iowa) reside in the East division. The majority of the Big Ten had strong non-conference performances and that now appears to be paying dividends on a national scale.
Big Ten Week 5: Big Games, Best Bets, Plus A Bonus
Videos by OutKick College football is now in full swing, and it’s finally conference season. Outside of a game or two a week, most teams will face off against the big boys with conference title ramifications on the line. The non-conference slate was finally good to the Big Ten. Outside of Ohio State’s loss to Oregon, the rest of the conference held serve in OOC games they were expected to win, and there were even a few upsets.
Big Ten Wrap Week 4: Ohio State’s Sideline Scrum
Videos by OutKick The Big Ten had the best matchup on paper heading into Saturday. Notre Dame clashed with Wisconsin at Soldier Field in a game that pitted Irish QB Jack Coan against his former Badgers teammates. The game met the lofty expectations for about 3 ½ quarters before turning into a route late. Michigan controlled Rutgers in Ann Arbor and while it wasn’t a blowout, it was much more comfortable than the triple overtime matchup last year.
Big Ten Week 4: Big Games, Best Bets, and QB Controversies
Videos by OutKick Notre Dame @ Wisconsin (-5.5) After a heartbreaking home defeat against Penn State to open the season, the Badgers thrashed Eastern Michigan in Week 2 before an early season bye week last Saturday. The timing should ensure that Wisconsin is fresh and ready to welcome the Fighting Irish to Camp Randall. QB Graham Mertz and the Badgers will need to play much better in the red zone than they did in Week 1.
Big Ten Week 3 Recap: A Big Day For The Big Ten, But Trouble In Paradise
Videos by OutKick Ohio State defeats Tulsa 41-20 Much like in The Wizard of Oz, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Pay no attention to the 21 point victory by the Buckeyes. Yes, there were some bright spots. True Freshman RB TreVeyon Henderson looks like a star in the making as he gobbled up 277 yards on only 24 carries. The kid is a versatile back with the ability to accelerate and finish runs.

Scarlet Sunset: Ohio State Falls While Iowa And Michigan Shine
Videos by OutKick For the first time in quite a while, Ohio State failed to carry the water for the Big Ten. The Buckeyes were favored by nearly two touchdowns, but couldn’t muster a 2nd half comeback in the first home game with fans in over 600 days… and there’s plenty of blame to go around. Early struggles on offense and reoccurring issues on defense ultimately led to the first regular season loss of the Ryan Day era.

The Big Ten Breakdown: Big Wins, Tough Losses. Who Is Really A Contender?
Videos by OutKick There was so much to digest in the exciting slate of games in Week 1. The opening weekend featured a host of high profile conference matchups in the Big Ten. Between the high competitive Thursday night matchup between Ohio State and Minnesota and the less than stellar contest between Iowa and Indiana, there was so much to learn about what these teams actually are in 2021.
Buckeyes win… The Good, The Bad And The Interesting
Videos by OutKick The Ohio State Buckeyes were able to pull out a season opening road win 45-31 against the Minnesota Golden Gophers. It was a night game to open the season against a Big Ten Conference opponent that was both prepared and highly motivated. Add in a fully-juiced and packed house and some inclement weather, and there were all the ingredients for an upset. However, just like he did in his previous 15 Big Ten games, Ryan Day was able to navigate the rocky waters to a conference win.
